Save it, moron, all the above shamelessly ducked Lewis until they had no choice but to fight the guy, it's that simple.

Shame really because maybe prime Holy or Bowe or Tyson would have stood a chance against him, but they chose not to fight - I wonder why :deal

according to Holyfield, Bowe and Tyson ducked Lewis and he himself wasnt keen to fight Lewis until he had to in 99 to get the belt Lewis had so he could retire as undisputed.

**** man it took Lennox 8 rounds to get rid of a old faded uninterested Mike Tyson who just showed up for a pay day. Holyfield dominated Tyson and made him quit in the rematch. That tells me all I need to know right there. Lennox would not fight Moorer either he avoided Southpaws.

I don't know the history as well as you, but this seems a bit strange. If I'm Tyson or Holyfield, I'm reluctant to fight Lewis when I am at or close to my peak, yet after I decline for a few years then I'm forced to??? I would think that if I'm a star and I want to take out the young buck I ought to do it before I start to decline. So what happened then?

Cant see Lennox been too frightened by Byrd or Jones to be honest the guy is 6ft 5 and 18st,he would be fighting against a guy who cant break egg shells and a former middle weight.Lennox got out when the time was right,he knew after the Vittali fight that he was on the way down and retired as champ.Surely that is the best way to go out,i cant understand why people would want him to do anything different. Why take another fight with Vittali and most likley lose, then what a rubber match? After that maybe a few more fights with guys from the eastern block win some lose some and end his carrer with defeats against lesser fighters with everyone screaming for him to retire for the sake of his health. He did the right thing and more fighters should do what Lennox did Roy Jones,Marco Barrera,Ali,Greg Page.

Lewis seems to be getting more love now than when he retired, which is expected, but he did pull a *****-move by when he was unwilling to fight
Vitaly after the close fight and all the controversy that came afterwards!:deal

    Zak, Zak, Zak...

If Tyson had a lot left after winning a title before he fought Holyfield, what did Holyfield have when he fought Lewis as majority champ? :patsch

Vitali would have knocked Lewis out if Lewis' doctor, referee had not agreed to stop the fight to save Lewis. Later Lewis retired rather than fight Vitali ever again.

Then why does Holyfield get so much credit for beating Tyson twice?

Tyson's best fight was certainly behind him at that point.

Holyfield to this day continues to fight competitively at the top level. See his fight with Valuev.

    Revisionist bull****. :good

Your the type to rave about the warrior Holyfield and his seeming inability to age but yet when it suits you maintain that he was a shell when Lewis beat him. :deal

Holyfield was one of the best heavyweights on the planet at the time.
