D+, and no. Johnson is the B right now. The Arreola love on this board is ridiculous, he has virtually no upside.

 

C'mon man, he gave Vargas his props after the fight. He even nodded a few times during the fight when Vargas ate a big shot. He showed respect.

All I know is if boxing was mainly guys like Arreola as opposed to guys like Johnson I'd bail on it altogether. Thank goodness for the lower weights, since Cristobal seems to be the prototype for the unlimited division. :good

All the Johnson backlash comes from one of two things:
1) Haye fans still butthurt that he dared call out the Greatest 1-0 heavyweight of all time to try and drum up some buzz and self-promote (which is what, you know, every unrepresented DIY fighter does)
2) People who have a preconceived notion of what the "next best American heavyweight" is supposed to look like (and are offended that Kingpin doesn't fit it). Like Arreola. People want a monster. Well, maybe one's not coming. Maybe stfu and accept what you've got. Which is a handful of talented guys who can scoop up and trade belts, but will not bring the glory of being "the man" back to the US until both Klits retire. Maybe stop putting that responsibility on the shoulders of every guy that comes along. Maybe give up on the idea of a savior. Maybe accept that the world doesn't bend to your wills. :good
