this is the type of fight that keeps your casual fan away from the sport , rogan could have put sexton in a coma had he hit him , then the coward (sexton) catches rogie with a few cheap shots after he turns his back on rogan , what a disgrace that was last night , no wonder boxing dosent get the coverage in the media with desicions like that

you've been talking **** all morning!

Sexton wasnt out boxing him at all - nicking a few early rounds doesnt equate to "out boxing him"

Sexton never "almost had him out of there" - Sexton caught him half way through the 7th and then Rogan came back at him 20 seconds later.

Sexton is a cowardly cheating chunt! Headbutting, spitting the sheild out, turning away, hiding his head and trying to con Rogan into thinking the fight was over - low act. The act of a scared man!

You said "A rematch is apparently in the making and I pick Sexton to repeat the victory." - I'd be happy to match you £4£ on that claim if you really believe it!

    :good agree

I had it 5-2 in sexton's favour going into the eighth.

He was out on his feet for about 3 or 4 seconds but rogan didnt finish him.

The eye had been checked once during the bout and was being checked at the end of every round by the doctor.

Re-match would be good, BUT Sexton won fair and square.

And to say Dave Parris is to intervionist - did you watch Hatton v Tsyzu?!

Headbutting? Both he and Rogan were guilty of that. Although it wasn't like he wasa throwing the nut fifty times a round. Maybe 2 or 3 times during the fight.

Spitting the gum shield out? It fell out when Rogan punched it out.

He didn't try and con Rogan, but if he did more fool Rogan for falling for it!

The ref must be Sexton's uncle, Rogan had him out and the **** Paris should've stopped it then, instead he brings in the doctor with 20 seconds left to check on Rogan's eye. Disgraceful refereeing the entire fight.

The timing of the stoppage was unfortunate. Parris could've gave Rogan until the end of the round.

Other than that the whiners are talking complete shite.

i am repeating here what i put in the irish thread...

in regards to sexton turning his back on rogan..and ROGAN getting warned because he kept hitting..

another ref may have stopped the fight right there in favour of rogie...

have a look at the finish of john l gardener v paul sykes...many years ago, but best comparison i can think of right now.

Hopefully, a rematch very soon, different ref of course!

Actually they both looked tired but Sammy looked out in his feet when he drops his hands.

Missed the gum shield part, but kinda funny that Paris tells Sexton "once quickly" about head butting, but then "lectures" Rogie twice, about hitting "Sammy" when he turned his back. Like something in the amateurs.

    Just my two cents worth.

Gotta be quick with the comments, cause Irish backers aren's allowed to "complain". Considered "bad form" I guess, like at the cricket matches:lol:

    Re-match...re-match... re-match... different ref.

If Sammy's got the "nuts" for it!

  12. I had Sexton 6-1 up....... and Rogan was lucky he was able to start the 8th with that eye, he had his chance but blew it

Fair enough, you saw the whole fight, I only saw the eigth round on you tube.

But you say that Rogie "had his chance" and from what I saw, in the eigth, He was MAKING THE MOST OF HIS CHANCE, while Sammy(if as you say was even up 7-1) was trying to survive. With so little time left in the round, don't you think Paris should have waited till the end of the round to have the doctor check it out? It's not as if Rogie was backing away holding his eye or something! Sammy was the one turning his back!
If Rogie blew it, it was by not going in for the kill when he could have!

Truth to tell, they both looked very tired, and as a Rogie fan, I think he might have looked a "little past" Sammy in this fight, figuring toughness alone would get him through.

****ing shite, at best Sexton was up 4-2 and 1 even, and the latter half of the fight was always going to be Rogans. I know Im biased but you Brits take the biscuit:patsch
