Who do you rate the highest in this division? Are you excited about any of the potential match-ups on the horizon? Will any combo of these 3 square off? Who would win in any of these scenrios?

I still think Kessler is the best but Allan Green and Ander Dirrel are the ****. I truley expect Dirrel to take over this division. Taylor is still good after as tough lost. Forch doesnt seem all that good to me. and Bute will get KO if he ever has to fight Andrade again. Great weight class and Kessler is the man for now but hes gonna have to unfiy the titles are fight somebody good to really say hes the champ. just watch Dirrel

Kessler said he'd like to fight Froch after his mandatory title defence.

Which all depends on how well his courtcase goes for him

Will Bute fight Andrade (not sure I agree that Bute loses), or skip his mandetory for a shot at Froch as some rumors say?

I personally think Kessler is the cream of this crop (currently), but would like to see him take the inititve in unifying similar to Froch's attempts.

Kessler wants to get out of his contract with promoter/manager Mogens Palle due to mis-management(made to fight bums lol).
Palle says Kessler has 3 more fight on his contract.

So it's going thought Danish courts, which could take along time.
Till it's sorted, don't think Kessler can fight. :-(

Green is hugely overrated. Not even top ten in my book. He's fought one half decent boxer in Miranda and lost. Dirrel looks a good prospect but I cant see him taking over the division.

As for the original question Kessler is the man to beat in the division without question, but his opposition of late leaves much to be desired. He needs to get back in the big fights. Bute is suceptible to pressure and Froch suceptible to being outboxed but both have great strengths, Bute his boxing and Froch his heart and chin.

Froch at the moment seems to be the riving force in the division. He is clearly actively seeking the top fights and is willing to make sacrifices to make them happen such as going to the USA to fight Taylor despite being the champ. He's now in talks with Bute which would be a great fight and give rise to the possibility of a unification fight with the winner meeting Kessler.

So I'd rate Kessler number 1... Bute and Froch 2 and 3 either way round. 4-6 Is Taylor, Andrade and Bika - again not too fussed over the order. 7-10 I would rate Pascal, Balzsay, Inkin and Dirrell. Murat and Ward just missing out.

Given that Kessler hasn't fought in about seven months, his past two fights have been against mediocre competition, and he has absolutely nothing on the horizon, I have trouble keeping him #1 over both Bute and Froch. I'm more inclined now to rank Bute #1, Kessler #2, and Froch #3. Given that, were Bute and Froch to fight later this year, I think it would be a suitable candidate for determining the man at 168.

Dirrell has years to develop. The guy's only 26. He has all the tools to dominate the division in a couple of years. It really just comes down to heart, discipline and defense .

    1.Kessler
    2.Bute
    3.Froch
With Kessler's managerial problems and inactivity plus recent weak opponnets after one or 2 another good victories by the other 2 can dethrone him.A direct fight would settle the new no1.
Bute will fight Andrade again and Froch probbaly the Ward/Miranda winner or a Karo Murat type opponnet.

They really need to fight each other to see who is best. Froch is the only one that seems to be trying to unify.

I'm with you on that. Because of his attitude, I would be rooting for Froch to emerge victorious from a round robin. But absent that, I'll take Froch versus either of them.

I'd still have Kessler at no.1 for now with Bute and Froch 2 and 3 respectively. Should those two fight, the winner would be the man of the division though as Kessler seems to be going nowhere with his managerial problems.

Those three are followed by Andrade, Bika and Taylor. After that it's quite hard to separate the rest with numerous good level fighters. I think Ward would be in with a good shout of being in the top 10 should he beat Miranda tonight and look good doing so.

I also think that Chad Dawson should drop down to 168 if he can. The competition in the SMW division is so much better than in the LHW division and if he can handle the weight, he definitely has the ability to be the no.1 in a division that would not consist of 40 year olds and paper champions who have no intention of fighting anyone but bums.

kessler is the **** froch is the most enertaining since he uses his chin as defence and bute shouldnt be champion as dodgy ref saved him, and i think froch can beat bute but wont get passed kessler but he has alot of heart so you can never rule him out
