Bernard Hopkins' Robberys

Call me old fashioned but I also think you need to land a meaninful punch to be able to win a boxing match.... which Joe never did, his wild lunges and slaps were embarising for a 45 fight veteran

 

Well he lost clearly against Jones and Calzaghe.
I still don't get how can people give Hopkins more than 5 rounds in the Calzaghe fight, and I only gave him 4.

 

I agree with B-hop:

He lost to Jones.
I never saw his debut loss, so I can't have an opinion.

I think B-Hop beat Taylor clearly the first time (that judge who gave Taylor the 12th had to be crooked), the second fight was close one.

I think B-Hop clearly defeated Calzaghe. When the cards were read in favor of Joe, I was shocked. I found Calzaghe's aggression to be completely ineffective, whilst B-Hop landed more clean effective punches.

 

And that happened in Mercado's country. For Hopkins to walk away with a draw after getting dropped twice shows you that he really won the fight.

He lost without a doubt the first Taylor fight and the Calzaghe fight.

 

This is obviously a pro-Hopkins thread.

 

I think the calzhage fight was a draw, and the taylor fights were close
but robbery?

You can argue that a few of those fights were in B-Hops favor ... the fights against Taylor were questionable the crowd didn't seem to think Taylor won and B-Hops excuse was they wanted some fresh blood. If he had won the fight against Taylor who's to say that B-Hop still would be the middleweight champion ... the fight with Calzaghe was questionable for the fact that Calzaghe didn't land much - looked wild and never got the chance to connect cleanly.

 

He clearly lost Taylor 1...Taylor 2 could've gone either way. Lost close to Calslappy.

His first loss was supposedly a bad decision (obviously).

Hopkins clearly won the 1st Taylor fight IMO. Other fights were too close to really say
he was robbed. A definition of robbed to me is Sturm vs De La Hoya.

 

So this is why he ended up in jail

 

i dont know why ppl give a **** about hopkins he stinks arenas out with some of his performances and he cries about how hes cheated out of a win when the mother ****er cheats fans out of there money
