:lol:When he worked his way up. You telling me he wasn't good enough to fight for Hatton's WBU title, but Freddie Pendleton was. Or how about Jason Rowland or Tony Pep?

Ricky Hatton held nothing back when he recently spoke about his UK rival, Junior Witter. For the last few years, Witter has been chasing after Hatton. The two waged war in the UK media for years, but Hatton has stopped responding to Witter's remarks over the last twelve months. That has not stopped Witter from continuing the chase.

Hatton told hundreds of his fans at a recent theatre show that Witter is not a big enough star to lure him into a future fight.

“What an absolute d**khead. He keeps saying, ‘I’ll knock Ricky out, I’ll do this to him and I’ll do that’. But he can’t give tickets away. Every time he fights there is no one there," Hatton was quoted as saying by The Sun .

"I went to watch one of his big fights and in the fourth round I turned round and said to the bloke sat nearest to me . . . ‘OI, MATE!’ I had to shout because he was 200 yards away. Then another fella tapped me on the shoulder and asked ‘Are you staying until the end?’ I said ‘Yeah’. And he said, ‘Well, here are the keys, make sure you lock up!’”

    LOL at Hatton

I've heard this said a few times (and I'm not saying its not true!!) but I can't see how Burley was in a position to offer Robinson a career high payday? He didn't have the backing or the marquee value.

Its not called ducking, its called business sense and there is a huge difference.

Khan and the entire lightweight division. I don't know how he can look at himself in the mirror.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Steve Collins duck Joe Calzaghe in a pretty blatant fashion?

No not really. He retired rather than fight on. I wouldn't hold it against a fighter who did that.

People on here put far too much inportance on boxers "calling out" each other. Its like being back at school.

All the calling out in the world won't make a fight happen if it doesn't make business sense to both boxers and their teams.

:lol:Business sense is fighting "tomato cans" that pretty much everyone expects you to beat as opposed to making a domestic PPV match up that's far from a foregone conclusion where both parties make more money. Or business sense in that you don't want to risk your 0 and WBU title run against a quality adversary?

Hatton/Witter could of been the Light Welter Benn v Eubank. But one fighter refused to make the fight and we all know who that was.

For those who think Ricky didn't duck Witter

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJS-HttWeio

Ricky was told to his face "you're good, but you're not good enough" and then the next day he's saying "he doesn't want to give Witter a pay day".
