i also agree that supplements should never be used as meal replacements, but i do you use whey protein after training for recovery and to get that extra bit of protein in my diet and i find it works

I understand that, but as long as you take in some calories you may just as well take some that are accompanied by nutrients, that was my point. And if you take 1000 kcal it does not matter if 30% of that is fat, because you're on a calorie deficit anyway.

I just don't see the logic, even if all that matters is aesthetics.

I'm not even arguing btw, I know you are right many bodybuilders would ditch the yolk because of fat. I'm just saying it makes no sense.

    How?

Let's say they eat 6 eggs right now, they ditch 5 yolks. How is that better than simply eating three whole eggs? You just have to count the extra calories, that's all. They're not completely starving so how would it matter?

well there must be some logic behind it because all body builders take out the yolk.

and the reason they take out the yolk it because of the fat content, how many times do we have to tell you.

look at it this way, what would be the point in eating that many eggs, for the ptotein. Then eat the yolk with the saturated fat in it, isnt that defeating the purpose of eating 20 or 30 eggs a day, i can only imagine that the only reason i would eat so many eggs is for the protein.

    Sure, skewed logic.

The point is that on a calorie deficit it doesn't matter much if it's fat, carbs or protein, as all of it will be metabolized for energy anyway.

What would be the point in eating a protein only meal?

why forse yoour body to burn extra saturated fat than it needs to when you can get all the same nutrients whilst avoiding saturated fat.

when i say eat a protein only meal i mean protein and no fat, i might eat some veggies with my protein meal get all my nutrients and avoid the saturated fat. And let me tell you, saturated fat is the hardest fat to burn off.
