After tonight he's simply a gatekeeper. Nothing more, nothing less. He'd be too small to compete at 175, although I could see him eventually moving up, and he's too big to ake 160 anymore. It's not as if his career is over. Plenty of exciting fights for hiom to make with the likes of Bika, Andrade, Lacy even Froch.
He is risky for most, agree! but as long his opponent have decent movement and defence, he dont seem to be able to do much! and there is still some bangers left in 168, who would stop him! he wont be a danger for any top5 fighter imo!
Definitely not. He looked REALLY overweight, far too bulky, against Vegas at LHW. That's really not the weight for him. He was slow and plodding. MW was his best weight by far, and SMW is about right now. He has serious weight problems in between fights - apparently he had to lose 75 pounds to get into shape for AA
I don't really want to hear about weight problems, the guy is chiseled don't believe that for a second anymore, excuse after excuse. First he weighs 244, now he weighs 222. Then it is his nutrition guy. WAY TOO MANY EXCUSES!
skill skill skill...thats the name of the game, if you neglect the defence aspect of your boxing game you will eventually become a shot fighter. Miranda looked like a shot fighter tonight, his long arms which once use to provide him with great leverage and power looked like they were too heavy for his body to hold up.
There is absolutely nowhere for him to go. It would take him years to acquire the skills to go further than he is now. Sadly, he may as well retire.
He comes across as a jackass, he's too full of himself to ever be fully trained correctly, so he is what he is. He looked bad because of Ward last night, but he's still a strong, tough test for anyone.
The only thing left for Miranda to do is get KTFO by Jermain Taylor. He's been talking **** about JT at every press conference and during every interview for the last 2+ years, and it's time he got the chance to back it up. Jermain needs a KO win in a bad way, and I think he's got it in him to stop Edison.
Sadly, I guess I agree. No doubt he was no fun to watch (he always atleast had that on his side). That was the worst I've ever seen him look, BY FAR. When Ward had him hand cuffed and locked down in the corner I just kept waiting for the "Beast" to come out of Miranda and see him toss Ward half way cross the ring, but he didn't do ****.
...What do I get? A one-way ticket to Palookaville. You was my brother, Charlie ... You should have taken care of me better ... I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could have been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charlie Charlie is his nutritionist. :yep
I think a lot of that was Ward's ability to frustrate him. In the opening rounds Miranda had the old fire in him, but after the 3rd it almost looked like he had given up. I think he got tired of swinging at a target that was rarely there, and it discouraged him, not to mention he isn't skilled enough to have answers for the tactics Ward was using (lateral movement, clinching, etc). It almost looked like he was waiting for Ward to exhaust himself so he could get a bearing on him, and it never happened. Miranda is what he always was - a puncher with limited skills. He'll never beat a talented boxer, or another slugger who is more skilled than he is (Pavlik, Abraham).
