you said the two hylands are going to be in big fights....how big??
I was told and this is third hand you understand that Pajo could be fighting for some inter continental thingy that if he wins will act as an eliminator or get him into the IBF top ten somehow.Eddie i hear is looking for another IBF inter something or other or an EU title shot.

Sexton rematch on the cards for Rogan

Martin Rogan will chase a rematch with Sam Sexton after seeing his contest with the Norwich fighter end in controversial fashion on Friday night.
The Belfast native seemed to be on the verge of retaining his Commonwealth heavyweight crown - with Sexton out on his feet in the eighth round - until he was deemed unable to continue because of an eye injury seconds later by referee Dave Parris.
"The reason I didn't hit him was because the ref came in and I thought he was stopping the fight," Rogan explained afterwards.
"But he only took Sexton's gumshield back to the corner to get it washed. Fair play to Sam, he's a strong fighter and he caught me early on but I recovered well and I had him well in range when the fight was stopped.
"He didn't stop me though, and I'll be back, bigger and stronger than ever - I want tog et back in the gym straight away for the next fight."
However, Rogan's trainer John Breen revealed that Frank Warren has already expressed an interest in another clash with his man.
"Frank couldn't make it due to a back injury, but his partner Ed Simmons was ringside and he couldn't believe the passion and size of Martin's support," Breen explained.
"Martin may have lost his title but has more credibility now than he did before the fight, and id the promoters want a rematch in Belfast, it'll happen."
In the meantime, Breen is keen that Rogan has a well-deserved break.
"He's had three wars now - Decemeber, February and Friday, so he'll take abreak to recharge the batteries, but he will definitely be bigger when he returns," Breen added to the Sunday World

I think you will find the discussions on this thread way above that my friend. This thread is a haven from the moronic bs that goes on on ESB!

Fra, definitely, Sinky was at another level, for the life of me, I cannot understand how he never become a world champ, he has the class and power, he destroyed Coyle. Never too late, he could still come good.

*I didn't boo De Gale either, but my mate did, on the grounds that he thinks De Gale is an arrogant so and so.

Castlebar is next ,dont think i'll bother the first half of the card is up on boxrec and doesnt look good although Timms and sweeeny have yet to be matched and i hear Oisin ***an is now on the bill so i could yet be convinced.
After that Dublin in June for the Hyland promotion.Havent heard a definite date yet late June i was told.Pajo and Eddie in two big fights, spike is on,Robbie Long of course,Timms is rumoured as is Jamie Power.
If they are matched well thats a good line up to start with.:good
Is Paulie contracted to someone else cause i thought he would definetly headline this or does he have something big coming up? :huh
Puca, thanks for the update, it is hard to track the upcoming boxing events in Ireland, in general, the media coverage is very ad hoc. What websites do you normally check for these bills eg, Castlebar one and the Hyland promotion. Cheers.

I'm still a little annoyed about the Rogan fight - I think its the sense of being "robbed" as opposed to the sense of losing. I'm not a bad loser at all but the manner of the defeat left a bad taste in my mouth - shades of Kelly/Maludottu (note to self send that DVD to BigEars)

On a lighter non boxing note I did the Great Manchester Run today (finished in 1.09 - the asthma held me back!) but I started the race with our very own Jamie Moore.

On a more sour non boxing note - Celtic - WTF!!! :|
