Roach: Cotto @ 140 & Mosley @ 142 or no fights "I have to protect my fighter"

Zab hasn't made 140 in years, so until it happens, he's a welterweight.

And apparently, Manny wouldn't dream of fighting them at 147 either.

 

Well, if he and his team aren't game for the fights they should just end the speculation and say so without issuing statements such as this regarding these ridiculous weight stipulations. No way Cotto or Mosely make those weights and are healthy enough to fight effectively. Cotto looked like a walking skeleton during the weigh ins of his last couple of fights at 140. It's clear that he outgrew the weight a good while before he decided to move up.

 

I hope cotto says no, only yes to 144.

 

LMAO they want the Mayweather fight and are using Cotto and Mosley as bargaining chips, they also want Mayweather down to 142 at least

 

Here's the way I see it - If the welterweights call out Pac, then they have to meet him at his weight. If PAC's calling out the welterwights, then he needs to fight at their damn weight.

Bottom line.

 

Cotto should rematch Margo before he does anything else. Mosley should try and get Manny to come to 143.5 OR go to manchester and beat up Hatton for a payday, or try and get the loser of Floyd/JMM because there's no way he will get the winner.

Good post. Pac is under no obligation to fight either on of these guys. Neither one of these guys fight in his weight class and neither one of them would represent the biggest fight out there for Pac. If these guys are going to go around begging to fight Pac, then they'll have to do so on his terms.

 

The question I have is WHY Cotto at 140 and Mosley at 142??? Why not both at 142?

Because at 140 Cotto is a KO waiting to happen, and 142 is probably the lowest Shane could get without crutches and an oxygen tank.

But with this statement I think he really doesn't want Cotto or Mosley since neither of them will be able to make those weights, except if they are just in for the money and they kill themselves to make that weight and let Pac beat the **** out of them.
