Roach: Cotto @ 140 & Mosley @ 142 or no fights "I have to protect my fighter"

Oscar represented a huge payday for Manny. He needed Oscar more than he needs Shane or Cotto. Oscar also hadn't fought below 154 in like 12 years. Add in his age and declining ability, and it's easy to see why they would make that fight at 147. Pac would be at a much bigger disadvantage going against guys like Cotto and Mosley who are used to fighting at that weight and will come in weighing around 160 lbs. Both Oscar and Pac were at a disadvantage at 147. Pac would be the only one at a disadvantage against Mosely, Cotto, or Mayweather at 147.

I really don't see what is wrong with what Roach has said here. It's well known Mosley and Cotto come into the ring on fight night approaching 160lbs, and Pacquiao clearly isn't a natural 147lber...... so it's far too much weight to give away to expect him to fight at 147. He did against Oscar yes, but Oscar came down in weight as well and weighed 147 on fight night.

If Cotto and Mosley want the fight, then that's what they have to do. If they don't, Pacquiao can fight someone who is closer to his own size in weight.

Vs Cotto we want him to cut off his right arm so he can make 140

Vs Shane we want him to be a zombie and fight us at a weight that he hasnt been able to make in almost 10 years

Vs Floyd we want him to take 35% of the purse, on a fight that we claim is going to be boring as hell

No disrespect on Manny but Arum is a snake, and if Pac is on his way out he will only be fighting Arum promoted fighters. IE Cotto, Chavez Jr, but I think the fact that cotto has even been having a hard time making 147 its unreal to think that he would be strong at 140, a weight in which he was killing himself to make a few years back.
