    True, but with all due respect, ESPN did not break the news.

    I'm skeptical that this will happen.

    After Pac beat Hatton, I have always believed that any rumors regarding Pac versus anyone than the Mayweather-JMM winner (Floyd), would be pure BS to help gain leverage for the inevitable long-winded negotiations that will soon follow Floyd's victory.

    There is simply TOO MUCH money to be made in this fight.

    I was at the race track this weekend, and a ton of friends asked me what I thought about Pac-Floyd. These are people who are by no means anything more than the casualist of boxing fans.

    If people like this are already breaking down hypothetical scenarios in a Pac-Floyd fight--long before it is even signed--that tells me this is a fight that will inevitably happen.

    what if they just do the weigh-in during the day of the fight and mosley must weigh 147 for it?? is that fair??

    True, but if he can win (which I believe he would), he sets up a showdown with Floyd that would be for big money.

    A good calculated risk if you ask me.

    Plus, Mosley cares about legacy and cares about fighting the best.

    Mosley doesn't care about Legacy right now.

    He said I want money fights. If he cared about legacy he would fight Paul Williams which would add the most to his career.

    Fighting Williams is high risk, low reward.

    Fighting Pacquiao, even on the short end of the purse, will do more for his legacy and his wallet (in the event of a victory) than fighting Williams would.

    Williams, while good, is still outside the mainstream.

    Casual fans have not heard of him.

    Mosley-Pac would be a mega-fight with the potential to lead to the ultimate mega-fight.

    That's what Mosley wants.

    Beating Pacquaio would not add more than beating Williams would for his legacy.

    I understand respect Mosley wants big fights. But he does not want legacy fights he wants money fights.

    Beating Pac does nothing for Mosleys career. Pac is small compared to Mosley.

    Mosley publically ducked Williams by stating he does not want to fight him. He wants money fights and by taking this fight at this rate, he does not get money.

    I'm hard-pressed to see how any reasonable observer can claim that it's wiser for Mosley to fight Williams instead of Pacquiao.

    Williams does more for Mosley legacy wise than beating Williams. Unless Mosley beats him at 140 for that lineal title.


    Wiser for Mosley? No, not unless he does it for legacy, but he also said he wants big fights. And a Pac fight is a big fight. But not a money fight on these terms. (Im hoping these terms are wrong, and he gets like 40%+)

    stipulate in the contract that both fighters should weigh 147 during the day of hte fight. i think that's fair...

    That would be horrendous for Mosely.....Mosley is a fighter that dehydrates to make 147 lbs......to step into the ring at 147 lbs would mean Mosley was bone dry.
