Why would he send an invoice to his accountants if they have agreed a fixed percentage of a purse beforehand? The accountants would know better than anybody the exact figures, that is their job not Billy Graham's.

Of course it's not Hatton that is directly responsible for paying them, but ultimately it falls on him as its his people. You've gotta wonder how when your commodity is a professional boxer you fail to pay the boxers trainer.

And I really don't feel that sorry for Graham because he was a poor trainer in my eyes. Fact is, you should live up to your words! :good:good

someone on Boxrec claims they been in the Hatton camp for 3 of his last few fights

they all got to big for their boots

    withold information from Hatton

play cards and darts with him instead of preparing properly

and spread their chest infection virus to everyone before one of his fights

they all negative within the team - can't take critics

and Hatton team are rude and vile

also Hatton did a public speech last year - and fled afterwards without signing autographs shielded by bouncers so no-one could appraoch him

    man of the people-----------bollocks !!!!!

Matthew Macklin use to be a member of team Hatton.

He once pulled out his false teeth at the front - all of his teeth had been knocked out boxing - and he bet them in a game of poker with the lads

meanwhile Matthew Hatton was shouting in the ring "women love him - girls love him - mothers love him"

and Ricky and Billy Graham - fled a hotel after boozing and left frank warren to pick up the bill

these are the type of people you are dealing with

what will his "mates" do to him in their "laddish" ways on his stag do

maybe pin him down on the floor - and fart in his face

or strip him naked - tie him up -

all in the name of warped fun

Hmmm... not really the point how good a trainer he was, I agree if there is money outstanding it should be paid. I;m sure once Ricky Hatton gets presented with a writ any cash he knows to be owed will promptly be settled. However, my point was our knowledge of this situation amounts to a couple of short comments in interview from Billy Graham. In the lack of a response yet from Hatton, we don't know whether it is an oversight from his accountants, whether there is dispute over the money or what the situation is. However, I can guarantee the response will not be "I am aware that I owe you the money but I am not paying it", which is the sort of thing that Sweaty Bollocks was getting at with the initial thread. :good

You are assuming that just as much as Betty is assuming otherwise.

The lack of words speaks volumes. Hatton was probably keeping that 500k in his bank account to accrue interest! Now its gone to the press he's probably released the funds - and made a few £££.

Come off it. A fee of £500,000 (which is the figure I've heard mentioned). Even if it were kept in his bank account for a year at a 5% interest rate (optimistic at the best of times never mind today), that would come to a total of £25,000. It's chicken feed to Hatton. Can you really imagine him phoning up his accountant and saying "don't pay Billy Graham, I want you to hold onto the money for a year so I can claim the interest".

I very much struggle to do so. This is based on the fact that I am a reasonable guy and beleive that no reasonable person would act that way to a supplier, never mind one who has been a longtime friend. Ricky Hatton from the accounts of everyone who has ever met him is a great guy and a brilliant person. Regardless of whether a few idiots on the internet who have never met the guy think they know better.

This is one of my main problems with Betty and his merry little band of weirdo cyber-stalkers, they take situations like this one for which there's almost certainly a perfectly logical explanation, put two and two together and phrase it in a way as to insinuate the end result is 2957! Which is pretty sad and disturbed if you ask me, regardless of who is the target. However, as Hatton is successful and popular, he gets it a lot more than other fighters. It is the same with most successful British sports people/teams. Witness the hate that Lewis Hamilton gets. Andy Murray. Manchester United.

As a last point on the topic, Hatton would have to be incredibly stupid as well if he were to issue the "hold onto the money so I get the interest" instruction mentioned above. Pretty well any court claim these days which covers unpaid monies will include interest at a substantial percentage above base rate for the period for which the payment was outstanding. Anyone with half a brain would know that you're going to get sued at some point and will therefore almost certainly end up paying back more than the interest paid.

Please could you not resort to using such rude and crass language on here. You may think it makes you look popular in front of all your "football fan" hangers on, but real boxing fans can see through it. We will always look back to your "Enzo Mac" days with great distain, no matter how many great performances you put on and how many people you made happy. And when you finally do make it to the "big time", we will be praying for your demise, becouse thats what being a "real" boxing fan is all about! :good

Fair enough, 25,000 isn't a lot. But then again these men did haggle over a few percent of multi-multi million £ purses, boxers are greedy *******s. It would not surprise me.

We'll run with the "Dog Ate Invoice" theory ;)

Lol fair enough :D. I actually think the few percent of a multi million pound purse for the Pac fight was more of a pride issue than anything else. Water under the bridge anyway.
