Is the catch weight of 144 a significant advantage for Mayweather vs Marquez?

If Marquez pulls this off....................he really must be given credit as one of the greats. Even if he makes it close.

Does anyone know what Marquez weighed on fight night versus Juan Diaz? Anywhere near 147?

147?:patsch What chance does Marquez have now? I hope he comes in strong, and not slower, because, then, he will be in serious trouble.

I would've given Marquez a shot up to 140lbs., but 147 NO WAY! I wouldn't be surprised if he weighs in at 144 lbs. and doesn't even get to the limit by fight time. Significant advantage Floyd-The smaller man usually would count on a speed advantage fighting up in weight-But as we all know that won't be the case.

Wow, I gotta give the devil his due..when Mayweather cherrypicks he makes sure he holds ALL the cards and makes sure his opponents have no advantage. A man who only 1 year ago was a Super Featherweight and is/was a career Featherweight being forced to move to 147 for a match that came out of nowhere, brilliant, just brilliant. The sad thing is that the Mayweather fanboys will defend this match up.

Floyd's last fights were at 147. And according to the Floydies, he's really a jr welter. So 144 should be no problem to him. But for JMM, 144 is a jump too high I think.

Floyd by KO, though can not totally disregard a JMM win. And I hope JMM would surprise the heck out all of us.

I guess all we can do is hope for an entertaining fight then. I have to root for the underdog on this one, just on principle.
