    Do I rank Mayweather ahead of Whitaker in ability/skills.... no.
    Do I rank Mayweather ahead of Whitaker in resume or achievements... no.

    BUT... `same tier` is not a completely off statement I dont believe, Floyd`s boxing intelligence, ability to adapt & the variety of weapons in his arsenal are absolutely top notch, because he isnt exactly on Whitaker`s level doesnt mean his skillset isnt worthy of same tier status.
    He is IMO the most skillfull boxer since Whitaker/Chavez, even ahead of Jones jr, albeit narrowly.

    Ps. I do agree with the Pacquiao 6 weight statement tho but I DO think Floyd has something worth boasting about with the 5 weight thing, I think he has beaten very good fighters en route personally.

    He mostly fought people who were either handicapped or him being at the driver's seat. Now, it the same patern once again with JMM and Pacman. He should fight where he is with the handicap and not the other way around.

    No fighter from now or the future will ever reach the #1 greatest spot anymore because they will never fight the 100+ fights going 15 rounds in their careers like the old school fighters did back in the day. No way you can ever measure it if you don't have comparable numbers.

    Floyd can do nothing to get that spot. If he beat Pavlik. He should of fought AA cuz AA is the real threat!

    im just 24 and have only seen the all time greats on tape but talent wise mayweather is a all time greatin my eyes

    i love watching the guy fight 99% of the time,the skills are unreal, just wish he wasnt such a annoying **** outside the ring, try to ignore all that now

    Robinson priced himself out of a Burley fight.

    Burley himself said he didn't even blame Ray and would've done the same thing.

    Of course, if boxing forums were around then and more attention was paid to all the deals that fell apart and the stupid "calling out" process that people get unnecessary erections over, then people would be all over Robinson and other greats of the past for "ducking" fights.
