No, I expect nothing less than 147 for Pac-PBF now. I think PBF's team was thinking ahead of the Pac fight too, and they want it to be at 147. So this is another way to that.

True and I'm glad JMM is getting the money and the big fight. He deserves it. He's just as good as Pacquiao but Pacquiao just happens to be more famous.

pac should do the same if he tries to fight cotto or mosley. Should be also at 147 then.

I think pbf can't make weight lower than 147 no more plus he is getting older

doesn't this change the size of the gloves too.......if i remember correctly, anything under 147 = 8oz and everything over = 10oz

Yeah, no way Cotto or Shane could make the ridiculous catch-weights Pac's camp has talked about. If Floyd demands a fight at 147, where else is Pacquiao gonna go because the other guys can't fight below that. I guess Pacquiao will have to retire or fight only jr WW's.

Good stuff, Marquez is a true warrior.... he seen Pac go up to 147 to beat Oscar, now he wants to better that by facing Mayweather - a better fighter than DLH - at his most comfortable weight.

I wonder if Manny will do likewise vs FMJ if FMJ beats JMM, I cant see Roach agreeing to this, even tho it was fine vs Oscar.

    Lets wait & see.

I think so cause I was remembering how Floyd had to use 10 oz with Hatton but Pac used 8 oz against Hatton so maybe this is right about the weight and gloves.

The one good thing about this is...
Marquez has taken some wind out of the Roach camp in regards to the catchweight thing.

(After this can they really still use it?)

Pacquiao went from 135 to 147.

What's wrong with JMM doing it, especially when Floyd is smaller than Oscar?

I'm pretty sure that was only in Vegas. Outside of Vegas, everything 154 and up is fought with 10 ounce gloves. But around the time Cotto-Margarito was made, they made changes to the rule. I can't remember what it was exactly, but I think both parties have to agree to using 8 ounce gloves or else the fight will be fought with 10 ounces.
