Has anyone else heard this? Apparently Munroe will fight Martinez again in an IBF title eliminator with the winner taking on whoever wins between Steve Molitor and Heriberto Ruiz.
It's in the boxing news. Martinez people want the fight in Spain Maloney's refusing saying it's farcical. Basically the IBF's top 10 are pretty much tied up so the nearest available opponents are Munroe and Martinez and they've told Maloney there not bothered about the promotional side of the fight they just want the fight to happen. Maloney isn't happy at all.
Where did you hear this? That's pretty good for Rendall that he's in an IBF elimator. However why the hell do the IBF need him to beat Kiko again to prove he's worthy of a shot. This is a ****ed up sport. If it happens then I hope it's not a case of third time lucky for Martinez. If this is in Spain and Rendall gets jobbed then there will be hell to pay :fire
I can't see venue mattering much. I don't think Martinez would beat Munroe regardless of where the fight is held. It's ludicrous that Martinez would get a title eliminator against a guy who beat him twice in one year!
Munroe should get the chance to test himself against a decent boxer before a possible IBF title shot. What is he going to gain from another 12 round borefest against Martinez. He will need better preparation if he is to fight Molitor or Ruiz for the title. Kiko Martinez should not even be in the picture.
Absolutely shocking that some numbskull is even thinking bout having an 3rd encounter between these two!!? Glad that Munroe is up for the eliminator though....lets jus hope Maloney sorts something out!!?
i heard if he wins this fight he gets to fight for the interim title against thats right Kiko Martinez and if he wins that he gets to fight for the Pound for Pound belt against thats right Kio Martinez thats if he dosent get EXPOSED as a GLASS CHIN and hes not SHOT, PAST IT and anyway isnt he OVERRATED.
I don't see why Martinez would be up for it..... he has been beaten comprehensively twice. If this is true, and as an eliminator for the title, I'd snatch this chance with both hands if I were Munroe and Maloney. It is pretty ******ed I do agree, but we are talking about the alphabets here. So Caballero is definitely moving up to 126?
Ofc Martinez would be up for it in Spain. It wasn't so decisive second time around that Munroe was miles out of sight and if he got it in Spain he might expect some more favourable judging. Aggressive style + Home town fans = Dodgy judging
