There's an article that states that Cotto will agree to 144lb catch weight to fight Manny Pacquiao but Pac's advisor wants 142 lbs.

" If a limit of 142 is agreed, let Cotto struggle to make weight, not Manny"
    -Koncz (Pac advisor)

Should Cotto gets past Clottey he could face Pac. I think 142 is too low for Cotto. They are trying to catch him dehydrating himself to make weight. I think 144 is reasonable if you want to fight WW.

Let's not get hung up on Pac should be fighting PBF or just come on here to say that he wont get past Clottey.

What do you guys think about the weight issue and Cotto's and Manny's stand on the weight issue?

Making Cotto come down to 142lbs is pretty disgraceful........but then making manny go to 147lbs is too. How about they Just fight fighters in there respective weight classes?

Exactly. They may as well tell Cotto to fight at 140.

Cotto didn't call out anybody. He is just willing to accept the fight that was proposed by Top Rank. Get your facts straight.

if somebody is gonna be at a disadvantage, what's the ****en point....really....

manny should just go down to 135 instead of trying to freeze up divisions...

    I second that.

It's funny how Roach & Pacquiao's "advisors" are playing the weight-game deviously now.

All that talk of Marquez (who can still make 130) having to come up to 140 for the chance of facing Pacquiao again, no lower than 140, said Roach.... -- so why shouldn't Manny go up to 147!! He'd have a pound to cut. That's still nothing compared to his opponents.

Roach even said a while ago that he's hearing Mosley's having difficulty making 147 (age... makes it so much harder!) & now like 6weeks later I'm hearing Cotto 142-44... & Mosely 144 or 145. People say Bernard used to price himself out of fights (though, I don't agree with that.. because 80-20 was often fair for non-marquee-name opponents who wanted to fight Bernard.. since they bring nothing to the table & it's Bernard who actually promotes + sells the fight)... well here, the people around Manny are effectively cutting down potential difficult fights by putting the weight-limits too low (yes Cotto could make 142-44, but now he would be even more drained there than he used to be when he was a big light-welterweight cutting to 140!).

Roach not wanting Cotto to fight at 145+ is a testament once again that DLH was shot and Roach knew it.

It's just the same... if he thinks it hard for him to fight lower than 147 then why force himself to fight e jr. welter?

I understand that every wants a piece of pac but damn! i just hate the excuses if pac's beats him.

    damn right, he would!

Marquez needs to win that major world title at 140 first, though.. (become the first 4-weight Mexican champ!)... & then Cotto around the time of that annual Puerto Rican parade... at the Garden. Let's have it!!
