Probably, if PW fought on the outside and used his height. Problem is that he gives up all his advantages when he tries to fight inside, which he has shown to do quite a bit.
I had the Cotto/Mosley fight a draw - so beat him fair and square is pretty much an overstatement. I would love to see a rematch and we just might if Cotto beats Clottey - which I don't see happening. If Cotto does win the fight - Shane should be next - since Pac/Mayweather will more than likely fight each other. No one can really argue that Shane isn't being avoided or overlooked. Since his win - Paul Williams is the only one looking to fight Shane. Everyone else considers themselves unavaliable. Of the top 5 Welterweights - everyone but Shane has an up-coming fight. Shane doesn't even have anything in the works - which is a shame. I hope he get's the rematch with Cotto - but wouldn't mind seeing him fight Clottey either. Don't think we're going to see a Mosley/Mayweather - so I'll take the next best thing. And Paul Williams needs to be careful - fluctuating between weight classes isn't always the best thing for your body. If he's getting in the ring with Middleweights around 167-170 - cutting down to 147 will leave him looking like he did in the first fight against Quintana. Just might case a disadvantage to himself on that one.
To those who believe Mosley is still a great fighter after the Margarito performance, don't beleieve the hype. Margarito was TAILOR made for him, i still believe Cotto or Floyd would deal with him.
Paul Williams is the most ducked fighter at 147.. if Shane is suck a badass he'd give Willliams a shot at his titles.
Hilarious. Mosley was the underdog and people picking Shane to win were few and far between at best. Now everyone acts as if they saw this beatdown comming because Margarito was so "TAILOR made" for Shane. Where were all these great prognosticators before the fight? I'll tell you where, picking Margo by late stoppage.
Don't know, don't care. But you are saying that people who think Mosley is still a great fighter are just falling for hype. You're basing this on Margarito being tailored made for him. Was he? I thought so, apparently you did too, but the vast majority of people didn't see it that way leading up to the fight. Tailored made or not, only a great fighter can execute their game plan like that and torch a guy that's never been stopped. It's not hype. Mosley is still a great fighter.
Your entitled to your opinion, conversely did you still take this view after the Mayorga fight? Just curious.
WTF are you talking about??? I was being a smart ass. that clown was tring to say that Mosley aint **** because he lost to Forrest and Cotto who lost to Mayorga and Margo, but Shane beat them so what is his point..
It certainly wasn't one of his better performances but I wasn't in panic mode. I considered the fact that Mosley just turned 36, hadn't fought in close to a year and Mayorga was a wild swinging 170lb nutcase on fight night. I also think that Mayorga beating Forrest twice had a small underlying current in the fight. Styles make fights and he was a tough guy to look good against for Mosley.
Well you claim you was not in panic mode but you know....... Yes styles do indeed make fights, still DLH KTFO of Mayorga who is shot to **** btw in 6. Mosley nearly got taken the distance....... Boxing fans = impressionable fools.
Mosley is a good fighter.....but lets refrain from going over the top. He got outboxed by Cotto, what would some one like FMJ do to him?
