How High Is The Bar/Expectations For Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Floyd sets the bar way the hell up there everytime he speaks about himself. Honestly, I think a big part of that is marketing and hyping up his fights.

There is no arguing the masterful boxer and technician that Floyd is, what people **** on him about is his style. Unlike Marquez and Pacquiao, If Mayweather Jr. gets into trouble in a fight ( which is rare ) he will resort to running rather than fighting his way out. Some say this is smart, others will say it shows a lack of heart. One thing is for sure his fights are less exciting than the previously mentioned fighters.

I don't set the bar way up there for Floyd, he is a defensive fighter. He said Marquez is a dangerous and it's going to be a great fight. A Floyd victory over a smaller Marquez who has not even fought at 140, is not going to really impress me. Fight a prime champion in their comfortable weightclass then I'll be impressed. not no DLH, Hatton, Boldamir.

Nothing against Floyd, like I said he is a master, and I beleive he will be victorious against Marquez in July...

 

His fights are boring because he dont allow fighters to do what gives them thier best chance of winning fights. While other fighters at points in fights either trys to prove a point or has breakdowns allows other fighters to have a chance to do what they do best. I guess that as Floyd slows you will see that he will start to lose control in fights more often and his fights will become more exciting. IE Jones vs Woods and Tarver 1. After that point just about every jones fight as been much more exciting then any fight before that.
