kelly pavik is overrated

pavlik's got a pretty damn good chance of knocking abraham out imo. as long as he can penetrate the shell and keep distance on those sledgehammers... no problem

 

Signing with GBP would make Cotto getting fights with Shane and floyd much easier. A fight with Floyd would be bigger then a fight with Pac. But really after Clottey and maybe pac Arum has nothing to offer..Chavez Jr???

in the bhop fight he was fighting up 2 weight classes and he just looked fat and slow
he had a damn rice belly in that fight

 

At the moment, NO fight is bigger than a fight with Pac. :deal Arum and GB do fights so Shane and Floyd aren't out if he stays with Arum. Neither have shown much interest in Cotto recently that I've noticed, though I don't follow that division all that closely.

 

Between some early rounds Pavlik literally had a foot of snot haning between his nose and his glove. Man was just in no shape to fight that night. Last time I pointed this out some idiot tells me Pavlik has had that EVERY fight! atsch

 

exactly. it wasn't the same taylor who fought hopkins because he wasn't fighting hopkins.

taylor's looked fine, he just has stamina issues. always has, probably always will... trust me if taylor was never that good he never would have beaten who he has beaten and manny steward would have never put in the time and effort. people seem to forget taylor was the man at MW for a long, long time.

 

Steward ****ed Taylor up, he tried to turn him into Tommy Hearns. When he fought hopkins he throw a million jabs and didnt look to knock guy out. After Steward he was throwing wild right hands and losing his balance. He just looked like ****.

 

this is all very subjective...

 

why would you try to knock hopkins out? taylor would never have knocked hopkins out regardless of what strategy he employed. he won the fights regardless of how he looked.

all i'm saying is, saying taylor has always been garbage is a ridiculous statement.

 

You come on here, and with like 9 posts start a hater thread. Don't be surprised if you get your ass handed to you. If there is any misconception about how Pavlik is rated by boxing fans he's under rated more often than over rated.

You claim Talyor wasn't that good, and that is pure bull****. He was good enough to become the undisputed middleweight champion by dethroning the longest reigning champ in history.

You claimed the Miranda win was nothing special, but Miranda tore through 160 like his ass was on fire. It took him less than 7 rounds to stop the same version of Eastman that went a full 12 with Abraham, he won a wide UD over Green, and totally ruined Sherwin Davis. Futhermore, Pavlik was so severely under rated that HBO hand picked him to make Miranda look good.

Zertuche was suppose to be a title eliminator, but due to politics and HBO's desire to make Miranda a star, KP had to fight a 2nd eliminator after he scored a highlight reel KO over the former mexican Olympian.

No one ever came close to stopping Bronco McKart until Pavlik did it in 6 rounds. McKart went on to win the NABF title after Pavlik vacated, and then fought a draw with Marquez who beat Lorenzo for a shot at AA in his very next fight.

Zuniga had 1 loss to Santos at 154. After Pavlik stopped Zuniga, Fulgencio went on to derail the Oganov hype train at 168 and win the IBO title. A title he vacated for a fight with Abraham who blatantly ducked him.

One can find plenty of reasons to critisize Kelly Pavlik, but over rated is not one of them.

 

Pavlik is good, not great. At least not yet.
