20+ defenses of his IBO belt, while avoiding guys like Sven Ottke, Eric Lucas and Marcus Beyer? Admittedly, guys like Kieth Holmes and William Joppy weren't **** hot, but he ****ing fought them. Calzaghe finished strong but there's no doubt who's career was better.

It seems like every other day I see a career 4 career analysis of Hopkins vs Calzaghe

Hopkins beat and undefeated prime Tito Trinidad, A prime Oscar De La Hoya, A prime Winky Wright, A prime Kelly Pavlik.

At 44 and 8 years Calzaghe's senior, Hopkins gave him the toughest fight of his career and lost a narrow majoriy decision. In 1993, Hopkins gave a near prime Roy Jones Jr. all he could handle.

Calzaghe beat European journeymen for the better part of his overprotected career. He really didn't fight anyone significent until Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler (both over-rated fighters). He waxed guys like The Contender's Peter Manfredo and a prime Omar Sheika, but otherwise? Not many people that will be remembered. He barely beat a 44 year old Hopkins.

The biggest name on Joe's resume is Roy Jones Jr. A 40 year-old Jones Jr. who had already been knocked out 2x. In 40 years, boxing fans will remember that fight like they remember The Great Joe Louis fighting on past his prime against a in his prime Rocky Marciano. Roy still managed to knock Calzaghe down.

This question is kinda stupid, no disrespect to whoever posted it. It isn't even a debate unless you're a die-hard Calazaghe fan from Whales who doesn't own HBO or Showtime.

None taken... but do tell that to people voting Calzaghe or saying it's close (as in very close, go-eitherway-close)

I'm a Brit... but B-Hop clearly wins this in my eyes.

I just wanted to see how eastside shapes up on the 'Calzaghe vs. ROW' divide.

There is a way to argue for Calzaghe but no-one ever does it.
It's not based upon a strong premise, either & it does rely upon a twisting of the truth.. or 'liberty with the facts' you might say.
