Great matchup Luigi. I feel '92 Bowe is highly underrated. Yes he was very inconsistent. Yes he was a coward for refusing to fight Lewis, but for a very short time (I'd pick against Holyfield in '92 to be his absolute pinnacle) he was an unbelievable fighter with immense talent and unmatched infighting ability. Bowe in his prime against '86-'88 Tyson would be one hell of a fight which would (most likely) end up going to the cards. Tyson taking a close decison, primarily due to Kid Dynamite coming out on top in the fiercer exchanges. But I could be wrong.

All depends on wether Bowe would've had the belief in his ability against Tyson. In his day (Tyson that is) he was the most intimidating fighter since Liston.Bowe was a pretty complete fighter but his defence was a weakness compared to Tyson, who was also faster and hit harder. Tyson UD.

This is a popular one. Tyson by KO.

Bowe has the tools to be able to outbox Tyson, on paper I would give him a good chance.

But I don't trust him not to brawl and try to be macho in a toe-to-toe fight, and his weak defence is going to see him on the end of some heavy Tyson blows for the loss. If I thought he could fight to a specific careful gameplan I'd back Big Daddy, but I see him wading in trying to knock Mike out and suffering the same fate himself.

Tyson by KO. Bowe's poor defense and willing to brawl will cost him the fight.

If Bowe fought the sort of fight that Buster Douglas did, then it would be a blowout. But if Bowe's ego came to fight, he would be KO'ed

This was a topic a month or two ago. Someone posted Bowes defensive stats and even against mediocre fighters they landed nearly half of the punches they threw! You can't beat Mike Tyson while taking that much punishment. Bad matchup for Bowe.

Tyson, he's just too quick. I have this picture in my head of Tyson slipping inside Bowe's jab and popping him with an uppercut... just too fast

I agree with most people here. Tyson would make Bowe look quite amateurish. He would hit Bowe consistantly, and he would also make Bowe miss as well. Bowe's defense is simpley too leaky, and while I expect Bowe to give a good fight, eventually Tyson will stop him late while the cards are dead even.

Bowe COULD and SHOULD win, but he wouldn't.

He's basically a bigger, better Buster Douglas. He just never had it together enough, consistently, to beat a prime Tyson.

    Tyson KO

Bowe will always lose to a heavy hitter, because he is there to be hit

This is a good realistic post. The biggest thing being what I highlighted.

Tyson KO. Bowe is greatly overrated. What is his 2nd best pelt? A washed up Tony Tubbs? A Pierre Coetzer he couldn't put away without some low blows? A coked out Mike Dokes? A fat, cigar chomping Gonzalez? Please.

Plus, Bowe's defense sucks and Mike would make him pay.

Yeah, I can see how that would present an insurmountable obstacle when trying to beat Tyson.
