Im just looking long term for Katsidis..a Hatton fight is not worth the risk to his longterm marketibility.

I mean he loses to Hatton , where does he go from there? Back to square one.

I think sometimes the big one off cash windfall can cloud boxers minds ..so i certainly wouldnt be taking the fight for the cash if I was Katsidis...from what i hear out of England and if you read The Sun , etc ..people arent as keen on Ricky anymore...so the money might not be as much as Kat hopes for anyway.

This is just hypothetical but Look at Mundine , he knows the business of boxing . We dont like it , but the guys he fights regurlarly and smokes ..he makes about 700K..as he promotes the fight also.

He could step it up and fight Kessler , Pavlich , etc for example and maybe make 1.2m say . But if Mundine loses then the general public thinks he is no longer world class and will no longer go to his fights or pay ppv , then he cant make even that 700K like before coz there is no interest.

Why take the risk for more if their is a guaranteed 700K right around the corner. Unfortunately that is how boxing works today at times.

DHB, TeamBankRobbers are making huge money in Oz due to nothing more than lack of 'appetite wetting fight' cards available.

Give Vic, Kats or anyone an even break in Oz, they'll make the dollars also... only short lived. Mundine has created such a diverse love/hate system amongst fans that Ashley had trouble deciding on the appropriate platform to engage in.

Mundine is the biggest name 'IN' Oz.. He sells the fights in Oz.. He's looked at as a **** in Oz... The marketing is perfect. Throw Mundine into the Deep Blue Waters of the USA... He's a contender. Only die hard fans consider his name in any aspect. Simple.

IMO... a Pav fight is LONG overdue... Pavs the man.. I always believed Mundine was better.... TeamNutHugDivider are making this fight a should have been venture.... It must happen.

In 20 years, the kiddies will speak of Mundine as a fkn God..

The fathers will slap them for blasphamy. I guess the whole experiment has captured the inner hatred/admiration of all fans for longer than could be expected... Shannan Taylor has been sanctified along the way!! Go Figure...

End result... Mundines the face of the Arseholes defecating on our faces..... Why do we keep watching??? We must be looking for the shut down?? I doubt that..... effectively, it's just a very intriging game of showbiz... not unklike Big Brother.

"It's time to go............." Waiting for Mundines name.

What would you assume Australians dont understand about boxing????

Do you think we're too fkn stupid to realise the monopilisation by the USA over the last 120 years??? Or the complete ignorance regarding champions for the same duration?? Perhaps the $$$ factor that increases the numbers of new governing bodies on an annual basis.. ??

What is it that we dont understand??? A fight match up??

The logistics behind the farces we squabble about??

The half wits that control the sport?? The code of 'silence' placed on those in the know. The back slapping amongst they money counters??
    C'mon mate... there's no secrets. It's a sport... not a secret sect!

Yeh your exactly right ....but we ( myself included) all keep watching..so he keeps making money and the show rolls on .

I think he does what they call in marketing " baiting the hook" well ...he always promises the big fight but they never materialise..although Geale is a step in the right direction .

ITs a shame that Katsidis bases himself in the US because him and Vic Darchinyan should be the biggest names in the sport here...i went over to the US recently ..and thats the only Aussies people knew.

I think down the line ..Mundine will be an Aussie boxing legend , have u heard the saying , Stat's Lie ..how does Three Time Multiple Weight Divison World champion sound lol if he beats Geale

I actually would like to see Choc do well and have supported him in all his fights..coz i think he is quality ..but the show is getting old ..and ive backed him for a while.

DHB... there's a huge downfall for both Vic and Kats... not unlike the era of Fenech..

Ellis won his IBF Title.. Fenech won his a short time later.. Jeffs the man!!

Harding won the finest effort for a World tiltle in years... Fenech announces a comeback the following day.. Jeffs the man!!

Media **** the credits of the 'hard fighter' and pay tribute to knuckleheads all too often.

Green wins LH/W title.. Fenech charged with watch theft... Jeffs the man!!

No matter what happens... Mundines the man in the media $$.. I look forward to the next 12 months, I can only imagine "Mundine loses fight." .... "Fenech fights with losers".. Jeffs the man!!

Go into a fight thinking about losing you can bet you will be defeated. Go hard or go home, All or nothing and thats what a Hatton fight would be. Like the true warrior Michael is he does not even consider the word defeat because he goes in wanting to win and fighting to win, He has no plans of losing a fight and thats what makes him so amazing to watch.

Sure a fight with Hatton is dangerous and losing is apart of that but not in his mind and if he lost he would take it from there but until then all that matter is victory. Wish a lot of other fighters from this country had his heart and soul to take on the hard fighters rather then duck them all throughtout their careers.

I like katsidis he is my favorite Aussie fighter at the moment but if he fought Hatton next time out up top he would be a tool for doing so unless he is looking to cash out and retire ,the money would be epic despite what DHB suggests Hatton is STILL big box office here in the U.K ( Two defeats by the then current P4P kings won't signal a rash retirement imo ) kats has too much to lose if he is to continue v Hatton.there is a world of difference between Hatton and the lads Micheal has been losing to recently , hey though what ever he does is fine by this fan the kids the bollocks , i wish he was a Brit .

IMO... Kats need this fight, as he will not have another opportunity to make the same cash or a career extending further than 18 more months.

Many want to see the rematch with Cassamayor but would that happen, would Cas take a rematch?
Also I think Kats knows that he's not gonna win every fight, and is happy being known for taking on the best when and whereever he can and that's what a Hatton fight would help to achieve win or lose. Many people myself included respect that attitude.
