weights and core

    Well having done a lot of googling for new ideas regarding situps/crunches etc because i aint feeling the burn like i used to. ( Yes i have changed to different routines on different days regarding keeping the muscles guessing etc )

    It has lead me to bodybuilding forums and weight forums where many are explaining working the weights eg front lifts to eye level and tense abs etc do a lot more for you than 100000s of situps etc a day AND theres a lot less risk of injury.

    There is quite a few options on how to work them. Need to find the links again.

    It was also explaining that situps / crunches end up working the hip flexors more so than the front wall of abs themselves in time.

    Im sure i gonna get roasted for this post but ****it, the posts i found, the people certainly seemed to know there stuff.


    What ya's reckon ?

    I know its a 50/50 here with people and weights :lol:

    I mix it up. I do weighted exercises, isometric holds, explosive med ball routines, overhead lifts, bodyweight stuff and I utilise alot of resistance band exercises where I pull the band to different angles (eye level, waist level, to the floor etc).

    My main focus is to concentrate on hitting the whole core from as many different angles as possible.

    rosstraining preaches core work so i would search his website & forums.

    Cheers, i am. Tons of reading though.

    On a different note Chinups to exhaustion with a 30 sec break then pullups to exhaustion........next day or next session i do vice versa........is there anything counter productive in this ?

    You can quickly over train going to failure like that. Switch it up. Maybe only go to failure once or twice a week.
