Come on! You think Malignaggi is a better fighter than Witter? The only thing Malignaggi has on his resume is a brave losing effort to Cotto where he took a thrashing.

Well, yes - but no-one's arguing that Hatton doesn't have a better resume than Witter. Hatton followed this sterling victory by fighting... Maussa was it?

yes, but that was a weight class below when he wasn't shot to ****. Castillo was there in name only.

The only times I excuse Hatton for his blatant and continual ducking of Junior Witter were his fights against Tszyu, Maussa (okay, it was for a title and he beat Harris, he's still a clown, "Vicious" Vic ripped his head off in 1 round), Castillo, Collazo, Malignaggi, Mayweather and Pac.

Plenty of other opportunites there by my math.

Of his wins only Tszyu is superior. For all these people that continually claim Hatton was "way above" Witter's level and never needed him think about that. How many of his wins would be better than a win over Witter? Hehe.

Malignaggi clearly lost to Ngoudjo and probably didn't deserve to beat NDou the second time. He is famous for being beaten up by a weight-drained Cotto.

    Isn't it obvious?

Hatton ducked Witter to face the likes of the mightly Carlos Maussa.

Better to face a legitmate world class talent like Juan Lazcano, than actually fight your nearest rival.

If Hatton doesnt retire then he should fight Witter and settle that argument, as there is no-one else to fight. Although I prefer him to retire as he is shot. I wasn't convinced with his win over Malignaggi, I thought Malignaggi was a powder-puff puncher who made Hatton look great.

Hatton has had great support over the years but he is in danger of milking his popularity for more big paychecks and another loss could sour his record. Pack it in and forget about the promotion ****, it will drain you.

I am not a Witter fan in the slightest but I can see the point TFFP is trying to make. Hatton ducked Witter so he could get those P4P fights and the big money. Fighting Witter was too much of a risk to his career path. Win or lose against Mayweather and Pac, Hatton would get **** loads of cash.

lets not forget that it's the boxing fans that want to see this fight happen, isn't it?.i know that the witter fans do ,and also the neutrals,as for the only ones that don't......it's only the hatton followers!
they are the two best welters that have come out of this country for a few years.this would normally have meant that they would have to cross paths at some point, wouldn't it?.it's in the public interest surely.
i'm a witter and a hatton fan and think that it's a great shame they havn't fought yet.i think that it is ricky's superiority complex that is in the way, this seems to have risen to the forefront of his character recently, which has pushed a few ardent fans away (talking in the third person/i'm going to be p4p champ etc.)
it needs to happen before they are bost past late prime.
the money would be there for the fight, the fans would be there for the fight, the t.v companies would be there for the fight, witter would be there for the fight..........ricky?

Il bet my life your not even old enough to remember that bout  Same old tired excuse? As if we've never seen any Hatton snoozers :patsch The bottom line is he was in the ring with an unbeaten world beater in less than 20 fights. Back then Ricky was tuning up WBU cans. Big big diffrence between facing a prime Zab Judah and a bunch of WBU cans no one had ever heard of.

Either way Witter went on a 16 fight KO streak. Changed his style didnt he dimwit. Hatton meanwhile went onto become a world champ. Both guys have done very well for themselves but i have way more respect for Witter because he had to graft for it the hard way. As for Ricky all he did was avoid his best domestic test because he knew he'd get beaten. I mean why upset a gravy train when your rolling it in? The kid done well out of this sport economics wise and thats all its ever been about for Team Hatton. Believe anything else and your dumb enough to think that water isnt wet.
