Anyone else find it ridiculous that Showtime wants the fight to take place at 2AM local time to accommodate north American viewers?

That would suck for the people of Nottingham who get a big fight in their backyard only for it to take place at 2AM.

Is Nottingham is big boxing center? I would think that Montreal will draw more fans and make more money.

The fight doesn't make nearly as much money if it doesn't go primetime for both American and Canadian television audiences. It's only ridiculous if looking to maximize the financial return is such.

By the way, it will be fantastic if this bout comes off. Showtime will have another surefire winner.

Right place, right time for Showtime. They've invested themselves in the SMW division whereas HBO's focus had been on middleweights; so Showtime's really going to reap the rewards of that for at least the near future as long as they keep getting the fights made. Froch, Bute, Taylor, Dawson (if he moves down), Abraham (when he moves up), Ward, Andrade, Kessler, and Dirrell are all either Showtime fighters or have had their fights shown on it.

I wish it would be in Montreal so I could go to the fight but if Bute take much more money in the UK, he'd be stupid to refuse.
