I haven't yet put too much stock into this so called rising prospect yet anyway, but what faith I did have in him is starting to diminish after I read this interview. I don't doubt that the man has skills, he does, but I don't think he has enough confidence in himself or the drive that it will take to become a champion, as so many are predicting for his future. It sounds as though he himself doesn't believe that he can become a champion.

He's probably feeling the pressure of being one the US's few heavyweight prospects. Sounds like he doesn't want that kind of pressure on his shoulders and is trying to play it down.

He's got to work more on his craft. He can always take advantage of his college education, if it doesn't work out for him.

You might have something there. I wouldn't want to be in that position at such an early stage of my career either.

Having a guy answer honestly is always refreshing, but I have to agree - doesn't sound like his heart is really into it. The moment he faces some real adversity, it seems he could pack it in.

Its way too early to tell what the future holds for Hamer. Following prospects is usually an exercise in frustration.

I've been following a heavyweight from West Palm Beach, Florida named Kasim Howard. He looked great for his first six fights then he takes a frigging year off until fighting last week. And he looked like crap according to the ringside report I read.

Howard has an excellent amateur background, solid skills, great speed but then this year long layoff comes. I just don't get it. If you're going to be a boxer commit yourself to the sport.

marting-I generally agree with you, but who knows, he might have had an accident or legal trouble. Maybe even a family matter that kept him from the ring?

    Wow, what a great kid.

I understand his words about not being sue whether he can be champion though. Its not lack of confidence. He has the fighting spirit, he is a fighter, but he is nowhere close to that level, and he cant say whether he his fighting fire will continue to grow or diminish. He is still developing a love for the sport in a way.

His analysis of Klitschko-Haye was excellent by the way.

I like Tor, I like him a lot. Besides being a smart *******, it's not like he didn't face tough guys as an amateur. You don't win the Golden Gloves by being a *****.

I don't think he has confidence issues, he's just being real. It's very hard to become a Champion.

The guy sounds like a HAYEter.

Probably the last time I'll hear about him.
