Wouldn't be such a problem except that there are much better fights to be made at 147. Floyd retired rather than face Margarito, Cotto, Williams or Mosley. Now I know you are going to argue that Floyd should be excused because he himself is a very small welter but if that's the case then don't force Marquez to come up to 147. If you want to be a welter and force guys to fight at welter you may as well just fight welters.

You posted in it as well.

if someone makes a thread, I'll respond but it's not a big enough issue that I feel I need to make a thread to get my point across.

I think you entirely missed my point. My point was that just because a couple of ******s are over extending the point of JMM going up in weight, that doesn't mean it isn't something worth arguing over.

It had nothing to do with you, your quote was just the one I was reading when I decided to reply.

It's the same people coupled with Mayweather hateritis making a lot of noise.

Obviously it's a dick move by Floyd but at this point what can you do. If JMM feels like it's fair enough to take on the fight then who are we to argue or assume otherwise?

Well when you are called out, why should the guy called out bow down to rules the other fighters want?

Who cares about who called who out? The idea is for the best fights right? I always laugh at this notion of "So and so called out so and so so." It's just a publicity game to get simple minded people riled up.

Anyways it's obvious Floyd has no interest in fighting at WW so at this point what leg does he have to stand on? Him vs Pac won't be anywhere near 147 will it? It'll be at some sort of ridiculous catchweight game OR at 140 itself.

Again we're still in the dark over whether it's at 142, 144 or 147. That makes anything definitive on the weight stance hard. That said you can't look at me and say "Floyd is a small WW" and then say "He can't make 140."

The idea that a fitness freak like Floyd can't make 140 lbs is a tough pill to swallow. The fight should realistically be at that weight.

If it's at 142 or 144 then it's an irregular fight but whatever. JMM knew that coming into the deal and thus he gets what he asked for.

Before this becomes the FMJ Joy Wagon or a Mexican rallying post I'll bow out...because I've done this conversation way too many times in the past month or so to get any joy out of it.

JMM knew this would be his last big payday. They made him an offer too good to refuse. Maybe if JMM was 28 years old the weight wouldn't be quite as big of an issue, but this is a fighter in his later 30s who's fought his entire career well below 147. He is going to get tko'd. And he probably knows it.

He's coming off an 18 month layoff. All the good WWs are taken. Marquez the number #2 P4P best fight to take. Lead up to Pac-Floyd.

Floyd is a small welterweight and he can make 140, he chooses not to.

Unless Floyd has added more muscle in this offseason he can make 140.
    Correct

marquez is 36, fought twice at 135 and looked dodgy, now he is fighting an elite fighter at 147. floyd fanboys love to defend his cherry picking ducking ways but this is undefendable. floyd is no warrior, just a buisnessman.
