I agree it's a terrible shame. I believe he has been like this for a while aswell. I remember seeing a small documentary on youtube which went through his career and showed the troubles he has been having since.
I was actually going to try and get a word with him. I know where he's sparring. I think I'd end up trying to talk him out of it.
aye that wasn't wot i was going for lol Ken talks about life after boxing in this; http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00k4lnn/Life_After_Boxing/
Well he is a living legend that couldnt get arrested in his home town, nor London, he had to travel to make money.
Read Kens book and that perv who tried it on with him is the luckiest SOAB on earth...if Ken had caught him he would done some serious damage to the nutter, when he tried to fiddle with him while asleep. Pervs like that should be seen to and not with kid gloves :fire
Ken fought illegally before in the early 80s.... It did him no favours then, so it is sure as hell would do him no favours nearly 30 years later. I think this is a cry for help of a proud man. But money will do him no favour, as it will be wasted on booze. Someone who has made a great living from the sport, needs, IMO, to get Buchanan professional help, to try and resolve his demons (if he is willing), but at 64, sadly, it maybe too late already.
And Sly does it again. In Rocky III, Sly predicted Mike Tyson would come, and yeah Tyson appear 4 years later about. In Rocky 4, Big gaint Russians will take over the sport, and yep, Sly was right againt. Now in Rocky 6, he made a other movie with a 60 plus ex Champ making a comeback. And here is Buchanan making sure that Sly's boxing predictions come true.
Buchanan's fights that I mentioned where held under the auspices of the BBB of C, the fight against Williams was a supporting bout on a Duff Astaire promotion at Wembley. They were not illegal.
