Roach: "I Think Cotto Will Lose His Next Fight, Or Has A Very Good Chance To"

Seriously it's a hard fight to chose. Clottey has good defense, non-existent jab, good left hook that he likes to throw often to body and head, ok footwork, he is tough, not really active, he's not a KO puncher but has snap in his punches and has power that earns respect.

Cotto is the better boxer, is slicker, punches harder, is faster, has a good jab and is better on the inside, he's smaller and a little vulnerable. We don't know if Cotto will be a little distracted and how he recuperated from the Margarito loss (Jennings is not a good indicator).

I think Cotto is too slick for Clottey if Clottey becomes the pressure-fighter/aggressor and would counter him off the ropes and evade. Cotto's jab will probably be blocked 75% of the time but it will allow him to set-up other punches. Clottey does have the power to hurt Cotto and throws good combinations. It will be a hard fight.

 

Today Cotto weighed in at 157......he is training like an animal without the distractions....with the exception of his mother paying him a surprise visit
for a brief moment during the day.

Training is going well and he is focused.

This is going to be a great fight. Freddys still salty he lost to Camacho Sr. and wants to take it out on Cotto.

 

Mosely is a better boxer, faster, and hits harder than Clottey I dont see Clottey bringing anything different than Mosely except less footwork, less workrate. So it stands to reason for me that Cotto destroys him, however Roach seems to be on the money these days. I just wish he was picking Cotto. Bottom line Cotto needs to win this fight to prove the Margo fight was bull****.

 

why so much hate for roach. if he can afford a 500S haircut, so what. he ain't stealing it, he earned it albeit rather late in life. be happy that the guy is spreading the wealth, spending money benefits everybody in the long term rather than hiding that money in the attic.

so what if he talks, he has been pretty accurate. think of him as a financial analyst or a military strategist or a supreme court justice. what he says has value since he is considered an expert in the field.

that is why he has been spot on his predictions in the last 3 fights. something all of the posters here are incapable of. he is a genuinely nice guy who cares for his fighter.

where is this hate coming from? envy perhaps?

Clottey blocks more shots than Mosley and could counter Cotto right on the button. It's more about how the styles merge rather than just how gifted the fighters are.

 

I know this will be a tough fight for miguel, but I am confident in his abilities
