I heard that Nobles stunned him.... I seen Monte rock him with a looping shot.... But for the most part, he has a good chin...

He's about 320 lbs, and he's fighting guys averaging around 230 lbs.

That's equivalent to the 230 lb guy fighting 165 lb men.

How many 165 lb guys could take out a 230 lb heavyweight if they landed flush?

Or could the so-called 'glass jaw' heavies be taken out by a 165 lb man?

Interesting point. Makes me think about the next point:

Why is the heavyweight division unlimited when it comes to weight?

Between 105 and 140 there are 10 weightdivisions. Between 200 and 250 there are zero weightdivisions.

I agree there are probably more smaller men than those huge men, but still.

Valuev obviously doesn't have the talent to really mean something, but if we call Floyd vs JMM unfair than what was Valuev vs 90% of his opponents?

There is a point when people are big enough. Take Dempsey vs Willard. Before the fight a 187 pound Dempsey was thought by many to be too small for the 245 pound Willard. Even Dempsey's dad thought his son was going to lose but as Dempsey said you don't have to be big to be a heavy weight just big enough.

Size only helps you so much in keeping on your feet. That huge Korean guy in K1 got ktfo by Mighty Mo. Other 400+ guys have been knocked out in MMA. Pangea Wolfgramm was also huge, yet he had a china chin.
So Valuev is big, but he also has a good chin, even p4p wise. Not granite, but still good.

In other words: a few pounds (10 to 50 lbs) more or less doesn't matter.

Up to licht heavyweight we are bitching about 4 lbs though.

Size is a factor but if an ordinary guy got in the ring say a 190 pound guy with little or no boxing experience got in the ring with the Pacman. It is very doubtful that guy would last as long as Ricky Hatton. You do make a good point about four pounds. I do think it is probably more good for the sport that they moved cruiserweight up ten pounds.

Its all relative. If he fought Shaquille O'Neal we might see his chin tested.. but his head is the size of a Mini.. so I mean ..
