boxing-wise, some of them are exciting & highly-talented.

But none of them are big personalities who will capture the imagination of the public! Sure, Victor Ortiz has got looks, charm & charisma... + Amir Khan will always have plenty of fans. But in the English-speaking world, that is it!

& now people growing up have another viable alternative in MMA... which is still growing (look at the UFC, it outdoes Boxing in PPV figures as long as the Boxing PPV doesn't include 2 out of these 4-- DLH, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Hatton; then if you add up the PPV sales per year of the UFC events... and put that against total PPV sales of big boxing events.. the UFC wins! now that DLH is gone).

Boxing will always be around and will always be big.

However, it won't reach its old heights again after this generation! unless we get some mega-controversy!

He's a 22 year old world title contender and Olympic Silver Medalist. With great offensive skills and a glass jaw. That's all you need to know.

I would have loved to see the whole fight without the cut against the faded Barrera. I'm sure that the veteran was going to have his moments in this fight. The cut and the fact that the fight ended so quickly made Khan look very good. Maybe he is going to become a good and popular fighter I don't know I'm not a casual hater. But he's absolutely unproven for now. I think will now a lot more for Ortiz and Khan after their next matches which are against very solid opponents.

Khan should finish Kotelnik (speed-kills) due to unanswered barrages of punches... probably between 7 and 10. Ya head it here first & you can hold me to it! Khan will become the first person to KO Kotelnik!!!

I don't concern myself with the personalities of Boxing.

Speaking of talent and excitement, there is a good crop of new fighters coming through who will take over the mantle when the likes of Pacquiao, Mosley, Hopkins, and Marquez are all finished at elite level.

I am very shocked at how many votes Amir Khan has received. So many more talented fighters out there, and I can count at least 5-6 Lightweights who I would pick to beat him, and possibly by knockout.

Totally agree. There are good few fighters out there who I believe have more talent and will turn out better than him.

From the list I would say Juan Manuel Lopez and Nonito Donaire. Both very good boxers with proven power. Gamboa is also one to watch (obviously).

    8 people picked Khan?

    Wow. Just wow.

8 people need to turn in their boxing fan cards.

Will you still hate him as much after he becomes the first man to finish Kotelnik??? & becomes a World Champion at age22...!?

Keep in mind Witter barely got by Kotelnik & you can argue that maybe he didn't even deserve the Decision.

No worries, though, Witter will call Khan out.... and Khan will accept, proceeding to TKO him too, something Bradley couldn't do vs. a lethargic Witter! (the worst Witter I'd ever seen probably)

In terms of physical talent, you have to put Andre Dirrell in the discussion, too.
