Of those I have seen on film, Bob Foster is the clear winner. Better than Jackson or Hearns or anyone else IMO.

Yes,but p4p there are many better one punch guys,Tigeredge.....
Dinamita,i see where your coming from, but hearns has more kos over a range of weights, which i consider to be more indicative of 'p4p' power....

Probably because most people don't include heavies in P4P lists, so that's why there's only a slight mention of Tyson, Foreman, and Marciano and no mention of other huge heavyweight punchers.

Another name I've been thinking needs to be listed here: Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez.

That's not what I take the question to mean though. Whether someone could still KO people at a higher weight is irrelevant, for me the question is who hit hardest at the weights they fought at. And I believe Foster had more concussive single-shot power at light-heavy than Tommy did at welter or light-middle or anywhere else he fought. JMHO

herol graham? that wasn't at 154,was against a topclass opponent and is arguably his most revered k.o(though my own fave was against terry norris, the first right was sweet, **** knows how norris got up)

Are you butt hurt for exposed as full of **** fleabrain? Hamed turned pro as an 18yo flyweight, years before he got his power, so whats your point? I've been known Hamed and been round Wincobank for years and he was always been known as a reknowned puncher coming up, nevermind what any comentator did or didnt say.

However I was only asking 'I'm not sure thats true' no need to be a big crying girl getting personal

I love Graham but he left his chin out to dry and never the best chin in the world. He was probably on the decline by 1990 too.

Great KO and most wouldn't have smashed him so beautifully but in its context a bit of a gift. Sad Herol never got a world title

more of a shame because of how well herol was boxing. naz himself says he's not a big puncher, think he's about 15 in the clip. no offence but you've riled me since your strange analysis of arguello awhileback, though i will say you're very polite and you have great knowledge when it comes to nutrition and diet and stuff. i stand by my comments about your avatar

Perhaps a few fighters we have a bit more footage of?

Interesting viewpoint. I won't argue with it, and Foster is a pretty damn good choice in that regard.

Do you believe this is also how fighters in general (rather than just power) should be rated?

But guys like Fitzsimmons, Langford, Dempsey, etc. showed themselves capable of flooring and KOing guys that were much bigger than themselves.

Guys like Jackson and Foster were devastating against fighters their own size, but don't have that kind of track record against bigger guys.

I think people are putting more emphasis on them just because they're more familiar with them, and probably grew up watching them first-hand.
