Just watched Abraham vs Miranda II and I was really impressed with Abraham. I personally don't like his personality but he seems confident and has a good style fit for him. He has good defense, moves good, and explodes into his punches to make good contact with his opponent. I think that him and Kelly Pavlik would be a great fight but I don't know if Pavlik would be my favorite to win. Make this fight happen !!
I think his strength is underrated ... the way he punches ... I think he's a tough fight for anyone. He will have trouble against a hard hitting guy like Pavlik but I don't pick him to lose at this point. Pavlik doesn't move as good as Abraham --
He has a weird contrast of lundgin in when he leads but good counterpunching skills whe nthe other guy leads.
That was one helluva KO over Miranda, but that sort of thing is the exception for AA rather than the rule. He looked like crap in his last fight, and the follwing opponents have all pushed him past 10 rounds. LuJaun Simon Elvin Ayala Khoren Gevor Edison Miranda Kofi Jantuah Shannon Taylor Howard Eastman Ian Gardner Nadar Hamdan The best opponent on that list failed to last 7 rounds against Pavlik.
He reminds me of a well drilled soldier, he never lets his guard down (literally), I would like to see him fight Pavlik, Froch or Dawson. These are fights I could possibly see him winning all three of.
Don't get me wrong I don't think he's a good enough boxer to match up with Froch or Dawson. Froch isn't a good fighter but you have to be a master boxer to atleast ink out the decision. He can get knocked out but I think it would be someone like Kessler or Calzaghe to knock out Froch.
A win is a win is a win; that's true. Can you get away with looking like **** against Pavlik? I doubt it. Abraham has real problems with tall fighters. If he approached Pavlik the way he approached Ikeke, pawing with the jab, sticking head and shoulders out past his feet, et, parts of his head would end up in the third row. If he is no better against Pavlik than he was against Simon, it won't last 5 rounds.
If Arthur had Pavlik's resume', he'd have 3 losses; 2 to Jermain Taylor, and 1 to Hopkins. That's not even debatable.
booradly You can get away with anything against Pavlik as long as he doesn't knock you out ... Rubio made Pavlik look like **** even though he dominated him.
I'm a Pavlik fan so don't even bother to go down that road. Don't get off track here. I didn't say anything about Pavlik. I simply pointed out that Abraham is still undefeated.
