You don't have to be a big draw ... he has the mexican nation behind him ... rather it be mexican americans and true mexicans in american and or mexico.

Then he would have the mayweather haters on his side --

    This fight will sell ...

People want to see if Marquez can pull off the upset

People want to see if Floyd can do something that Pacquiao couldn't do - knockout Marquez

People want to see how FLoyd will react after such a long layoff.

425k. Hardly comparable though considering both were at much lower weights and lower weights never generate as much, neither were mainstream yet either.

The greatest mexican trilogy Mab-Morales only did 325k, and that wasn't all mexicans purchasing that fight. The mexican ppv fan base isn't that big. Floyd will sell this fight and it be interesing to see what kind of numbers he can generate without a mainstream name.

they're were (morales and barrera) little guys ... you have two fighters (Marquez and Mayweather) whos fighting for the p4p title.

I never known for Barrera vs Morales being on PPV I thought that it was on regular HBO

Pac vs Marquez sold 500k buys the record for a non welterweight bout

the economy has nothing to do with it ... all it does is make people think twice about ordering shitty fights ... but with the recent treats HBO has given us ... fans are going to spend on that fight.

yo, if they get the undercard right then this mother****er will sell a lot, I dont know about the states but they did a smart move by putting Matthew Hatton on the card and if they are smart they should put an irish or another english fighter on that card against an american household name or something and that will spark up the english fans to actually have a bigger incentive to buy the PPV, that's if it will be on PPV over here.

right now its Zab Judah vs Matther Hatton so that will add some life to the sales atleast 30k from that fight alone.

The economy has everything to do with it. If you look at PPV numbers for comparable fights, you will notice a trend. RJJ-Calzaghe with a 34/7 did 250k...no way it would have done that 2 years ago. Pac-Diaz sold less than Pac-Solis, 1 was at a higher weight, with countdown, on HBO and for title, yet sold less. JMM-MAB, 2 biggest mexican names only did 225k. MMA ppv's in general are lower than before despite having a crossover star, Lesnar who brings his WWE fanbase too.
