May seems to think so, He said, "Once you've been knocked out in the way he was by me, it's always in the back of your mind that it can happen again. His head was never the same."

That fight changed him in one way.

It basically compounded what had happened to him from Kostya Tszyu onwards...

Huge fight, vs. a p4p-great... where he had THE WHOLE COUNTRY on his back.... loud as hell & he didn't want to disappoint. Out went the boxing & pressure-fighter... then began the lunging maul & brawler... the one who lunges in for the big left hook... who rarely jabs.. and never moves his head (preferring to eat shots!). Believe it or not, he was a pretty decent pressure fighter before KT (as in he would BOX, not just brawl!)... & didn't clinch as much as he did from that fight onwards!!

Same thing happened with Pacquiao as with Mayweather... though Pacman's style & power were always going to get Hatton out of there way before Floyd did (we just didn't think it would be inside 2!!!)... Jim Watt put it perfectly, "Ricky's using the same naive tactics he did against Floyd Mayweather"... those were the same tactics he used vs. Kosta Tszyu.. but KT was fading (not totally past it, though!) & wasn't as good at catching people off the back foot as Manny is... Roach has really worked on that with him, getting him to counter as well as be aggressive!

Back to the point though, after he lost to Floyd.... it made him want to go out there & fight with his heart (not his head) EVEN MORE DETERMINED NOT TO LET HIS FANS DOWN in his next mega-fight. He did that & he got KTFO'd.... blown away as called... just quicker than anyone expected.

I said the old Hatton gets blown away inside 4, 6 tops.
    but not 2rounds with 2 knockdowns in round1. =/

I made a comparison with Lloyd Honeyghan on another thread about this, Mayweather did to Hatton what Marlon Starling did to Lloyd. Mark Breland beat Honeyghan easier than Starling did, but it wasn't the same guy in the ring, same as Hatton wasn't the same guy for Pac as he was for Floyd.

NO. Hatton didn't do anything differently against Pac to suggest that Maywather ruined him. He fought his fight and got koed.

Hatton was on the way down after, he fought Tszyu. I dont think he looked good in many of his fights after that.

Malignaggi was about the best he looked, but that was against a guy with NO offence who froze.

You're right - it must have shocked system right to the core. He thought his very linear overwhelming approach would be enough, but my god did he get a shock.

Collazo had hatton on ***** street way before floyd got to him, if anyone ruined hatton its Collazo. only his wrestling saved him from that fight. collazo should have won that fight, and hatton knows it.
