i have all the respect in the world for JMM trust me, but i jus think mayweather even with a friggin 5 year lay off would beat him. sorry its jus my opinion

I'll tell you those are the best types of fights....as a fan of a fighter, if you the fan are anxious, fidgity, and nervous before a fight, then you know that the matchup is legit and the opponent is worthy!:yep


Nothing wrong with some nerves before a big fight, just most folks wont admit that they're nervous!

I always get nervous right before my favorite boxer's get in the ring. It's only an hour or so before the fight. I'm going to be nervous for this one when it happens because I like both guys!

i agree and in all reality if anyone seriously believes that this is a tune up fight then they are not really boxing fans. any person with legit partial knowledge of the sport can see that despite the size difference both are great fighters and there are serious pros and cons for both fighters.

the *******s are the biggest examples of this. claiming marquez can't compete with floyd yet they think pacquiao can defeat floyd. do they forget that marquez has arguably beaten pac twice. yes pac has gotten better, bigger and stronger, but JMM looked great at 135. and we just have to wait and see how he will look at 143 or 147. i expect him to be prepared and lookin great. the thing about both JMM and pac is that they are both true warriors and their dedication and work ethic is top stuff. if either has to go up weight, they are not going to take it lightly and will prepare 100%.

Agreed. When two fighters are this skilled, size is not as big a factor anyway. Not many people believe it, but I swear JMM is a tougher fight than Pacquiao for Floyd.

 

This is good to hear, the more even the playing field the better.

This fight definitely has me interested, there are so many unknowns!

Will Marquez be able to bring up his weight effectively?
Will his amazing powers of recuperation still be there if he gets hit by a punch from a WW?
Will Floyd's layoff have any effect at all?
Will Floyd press his size and speed advantage against an incredible counter puncher?

Or will any of these questions matter at all since this might be a case of the good bigger fighter beating the good smaller fighter? (which people always say but doesn't seem to happen lately)

 

i say the same thing.

 

Barring a quick KO which I dont envision, both fighters here will have to be making adjustments from round to round and minute to minute......you just cant attack one way against either of these fighters......

.....but with Pacquiao, I still feel that once either of them gets a beat on him, that basically it, GAME OVER!

I felt that though the fights with Pacquiao for Marquez were physically taxing, in rounds JMM clearly controlled him. The knockdowns in both fights came early, and from there, Marquez was in control, basically because Pac cant make the adjustments on the fly as well as JMM can.

 

Right, he does not have the adaptability of JMM or PBF.

Plus the size difference. JMM also has had trouble fighting boxers with speed. Mayweather is pretty fast himself and his power is underrated. Against a smaller opponent his power will be a big advantage.

Marquez was rocked by diaz who is not even a big puncher. Mayweather could defenitely score a KD and maybe a KO.
