Tzsyu already said the version Hatton fought would have knocked himself out. People want to pick holes in this victory so much simply because they dislike Hatton and like KT, fair enough, but give it a ****ing rest, this thread has been done to death. We need to know: Hatton was a massive underdog, people were predicting an easy KO. Tzsyu was p4p 3 at the time, that is elite status. Tzsyu quit on his stool after a tough tough match, Hatton made him fight his fight.
Depending on how Hatton actually fights it's either an early, embarrassing KO, or a mid-late KO with some success from Hatton. Can never see him winning though.
I agree with whats been said. Hatton would give Tszyu some tactical issues, because Tszyu gets disorganized when he is crowded. Pacquiao was able to get in 3/4 punches before Hatton closed the distance because of his extra hand speed. Tszyu is not that type of fighter. However with a unbiased referee seperating them properly i think Hatton would have success early, but get caught coming in. Im talking about the version that FOUGHT Hatton. The prime Tszyu would have an easier time.
But its not guaranteed is it you silly boy What you meant to say was " IN MY OPINION Tszyu woukld've beat Hatton that same day on neutral ground "
Prime Tszyu (1999-2000) was known for his strength. The only guy from that period who would have been arguably stronger (at the same weight) was Mosley (but he went up to 147 in 2000). KT was incredibly compact and powerful at 140. Nobody would beat that version merely on brute force. Prime Ricky Hatton wouldn't be able to overpower Prime KT. Prime KT would have shook himself free and thrown off the holding Ricky Hatton maul-mania-fest and the ref would have been quite irrelevant. No version of Ricky Hatton (prime or otherwise) has extraordinary speed, quickness, or boxing skill. Hatton has nothing to be competitive or survive Prime Tsyzu. Kostya was a much better boxer than Ricky. Prime Tsyzu doesn't get held and knocks Ricky the **** out COLD way under the distance.
KT was tired by round 6. That wouldn't have happened when he was fit, and he was known to be a fitness machine. He would stop Hatton mid-late.
