hmm says... I was a fan and thought it was "hot sushi" at first. I have like the first 40 UFCs on video.... after watching them all, I got tired because most of it went to the ground, some of the fighters were overrated or wtf?! to be called athletes, etc...... now I only watch when there is a so-called big match-up to keep up with the times. I don't really get exited anymore.
Respect them as fighters and all, but watching two men roll around on the ground groping and all doesn't appeal
Watching grown men roll around on the floor is not my idea of entertainment. I dont care if its because i dont know what im watching, its not entertaining watching two guys wrestle on the floor. I hate it when there are clinches in a Boxing match and they dont really happen that much.
The stand up is fun to watch, their punches look ugly though. But once they hit the ground... bleh.. it's not for me
Thats the typical ignorant respnse from boxing snobs Both boxing and MMA are great Fair enough if people just dont like it, but the way a lot of people on either side just go out to mock the other sport is pathetic Besides, perhaps the greatest fighter of all time (Fedor) is currently active in MMA. Thats the equivalent of being able to watch Sugar Ray Robinson in real time
What is ignorant about that? i appreciate that its not as interesting to watch the ground game, IF you dont know what your watching, which i dont, but you've gotta understand its casual fans that make a sport what it is not hardcore MMA fans, and to the average person tuning into watch MMA all he is seeing is two men rolling around on the floor. That is why it will always be a niche sport imo.
