    Awesome indeed.

Those are some of the best combinations you'll ever see.

What was great about Chavez was that every punch he threw was precise and meaningful. He didn't flurry for flurrying's sake or to make the crowd think he was doing something when he was not. He threw every punch with intention, with precision and with power.

Very underrated handspeed too I'd say, especially with the sneak lead right.

he was more tactical than people give him credit for as SS says he thoguth about every punch and he was patient. One of the greatest Pressure fighters ever, if not the best

I actually sat down when i had loads of spare time and watched his career set over a few days. I luvd how he beat on Roger Mayweather the first time. Very very similar in style to Jose Luis Castillo, i think the difference is that Chavez just seems more prolific, that's all.

JL Castillo try hard to fight like chavez but fail!

Maybe the style of latest Chavez at 140 ...
but for sure JL Castillo is far far away from the level of 135 lbs Chavez !!!
i never see Castillo Fight like Chavez vs Rosario ...

I've said for years that Chavez' and Joe Louis' were the greatest offenses that I've ever witnessed.

Chavez was a lot more skilled and overall effective in his style than his protege Castillo.

Castillo was an imitaton of Chavez who lacked the intelligance and adaptibility of Chavez as he copied Chavez and dint think for himself

Fukinhell what is this? I go away for a bit and you guys try and make me look bad. That's what i said, they have a very similar style but Chavez is simply more prolific, meaning better at it and more effective.

Though i think Castillo is slightly underrated.

Fukinhell guys, everyone tryin to take shots at the Rock!

I must say i think Castillo was the best lightweight of the last era, regardless of his versatility flaws, he was a good educated pressure fighter with good technique on offense and was effective because of his immense strength.

Agreed Chavez was better all round, and had a bit of boxing ability also.

Also, on a different note, Castillo's best shot was his left hook, Chavez' was clearly his right hand.

I had the first a draw and the secnd one clear obviously, but even if he lost twice to him i see no shame whatsoever.

I don't think Castillo is some world beating elite level lightweight, but best lightweight of his era and often overlooked, that's all.
