Who are your Top Lightheavyweights this decade? say your top 3
let's just assume that the decades started in 2000

    supermiddle belongs to calzaghe
    middle belongs to hopkins
    light middle is to wright
    welter is to mosley
    lightweight may go to mosley
    super feather is to mayweather
    feather is to pacquiao
    super bantam is to vazquez

who is the greatest lightheavy this decade?

None of the above. Each has a couple of good wins at that weight, but there hasn't been a dominant LHW this decade.

jones has a great record but tarver owned him. it could have been tarver but his losses to dawson hurt his claim.

i might give it to hopkins, wow, hopkins is the best middle and lightheavy in this decade imo

Huh? I'm not really sure how you can come to that conclusion. He's fought one actual LHW at 175, and that one LHW was someone who was beaten about as convincingly by Dawson, only Dawson also has a few other good wins at the weight (not just beating up middleweights and SMWs at LHW).

I'd still say it's Jones, but it's probably between him and Dawson. Jones had a 4-year dominant run at the beginning of the decade, Dawson's having a 4-year dominant run at the end of it.

hopkins also won against pavlik and held calzaghe in a close fight...

hopkins' win over tarver is more dominant that any of dawson's two wins

It hasn't been a particularly strong era for the Light Heavies, has it? Better than the Heavyweights, at least.

It has to be based on the whole body of work and not losing fights at the end of your career. 90% of fighters in the history of boxing lost to fighters at the end of thier careers that they would have murdered in thier primes...Also keep in mind Jones also beat Tarver, which seems to get lost. Jones really didnt do that well from 2002 on he was clearly on the slide starting with his fight with Woods, were he was hit more in that fight then in any fights in his entire career.

Its really a tough question, Hopkins only had a hand full of fights at the weight and half of those were vs middleweights, Calzaghe fought the 40+ masters tour and nothing eles. Dawson hasnt done enough. but **** you would have to give it to someone

wins over johnson, harding, harmon and trinidad
trilogy with tarver (yes jones won narrowly in their first fight but he lost the 2nd fight he is suppose to win)
add that to losses to johnson and calzaghe

hopkins wins over tarver and pavlik has huge significance considering his age. He is suppose to lose both fights but he proved experts wrong. close fight with calzaghe and a win over wright.

hopkins is top 5 p4p in his entire career at lightheavy

Disagree with your FWT pick but I`ll let it slide for the sake of this particular thread.

My landsilde comment was made while not letting the word `decade` sink in properly... but I still go Jones, he beat a HWT while LHWT champ, 100 yrs & Bob Fitszimons was the last before that.

    Yes, Jones nails it.

    Antonio Tarver (Mason Dixon)
derailed jones express. wins over glen johnson and clinton woods. lost decision to legendary middleweight king bernard hopkins. past his prime in losses to dawson.
    most accomplishing light heavyweight 2000-2009
