    Rigondeaux made successfull debut!

Finally, Rigo started his pro career, after serious disrtactions outside of the ring, but it really didn't matter inside. He fought no-hoper Juan Noriega, who had never been stopped before, but was saved by the referee yesterday (TKO3). Rigo literally made a shut-out on the stats, Noriega failed to land a single clean blow in the fight that was held at 122.

On the other hand, Ahmet Öner and Gary Hyde had round 1 yesterday in court, and according to Paddy (thx for the updates man!), they are heading back to court in 2 weeks. It looks like Hyde is in prime position to win.

    Here's Rigo's pro debut!

It's too early to judge Rigo who was out for 2 years and just made his debut, but he surely made a lot of Cuban and other boxing fans very happy. Let's just hope he'll be back shortly, doesn't matter under who's management and promotion, but vs. better and better opposition. Erislandy Lara won his first fight scheduled for 8 rounds (TKO4) and Yourdanis Despaigne (W4) and Yudel Johnson (TKO1) made their successful debut too. A great night for Cuban boxing... or simply for boxing.

maybe you're right, but I was expecting a lot more from the guy, considering all the talking about him before his pro debut. time will tell, I guess.

Told you Noriega was awful. Landed 2 punches all fight apparently.

It wasn't particularly impressive, he did what he had to do against a very poor fighter, Noriega was ****-scared after that first knockdown.

I think he just wanted to get as many minutes in as he could, he's been out of the ring for 2 years so I'll forgive a bit of rust.

Lara was very impressive. Finished Vazquez with a series of sharp, accurate punches.

So far, of all the Cubans, Gamboa looks to be the most impressive.

Good Performance but he looks like Gamboa ... he keeps his hands down and relys on his speed ...

He's an explosive counter puncher but like Gamboa he will lose soon being in a division full of guys who can knock his block off ... He doesn't compare to the elite guys of that division ... his only hope would be those guys to move up in weight by the time he challenges for a title.
