Two great two weight world champions regarded as amongst Britains best. Who do you consider to have had the more successfull pro career? I think its very close with the resumes especially being close (real boxing fans don't put as much credit to undefeated records as the public but Joe still needs credit for it).

Calzaghe definately in terms of versatility and consistancy.
H2H I'd only narrowly favour Joe. Would've been a cracking fight!

This thread was done recently...when you weigh everything up Calzaghe was greater. He had better record, longevity, chin, speed, stamina, boxing ability and wins.

Regarding wins.....I know people will cast up the McClellan win...but to me Gerald was clearly winning that until the (clash of head induced) brain injury forced him to quit.

Didn't Benn once say that if Calzaghe had been around when Benn, Eubank and Collins were in the mix Calzaghe would have beaten them all...Calzaghe says that his hardest fight ever was against Eubank..:bbb

    **** off

Calzaghe obviously had the better career. Only a hater or a dumb **** would say otherwise.

Benn was a warrior though, lots of respect for that man.

I agree.I even think he's just as gutsy and would have broken Benns will like Collins did.Joe had many more dimensions and tools than Mclellan.

Benn's defense was far superior to Calzaghe's.

People writing off Benn's chances against Calzaghe are dreaming. Calzaghe isn't some boxing demi-God who can't be beat. Benn would have a good chance, I personally think he would smash Calzaghe to pieces.
