hmm says... I got Hearns down, unless PBF can prove so otherwise in his next few fights.

It was Hearns freakish physical advantages that enabled him to outbox Leonard 1st & his boxing skills 2nd, thats obvious.

Mayweather is a better boxer than Hearns, Floyd is 1 of the best pure boxers in the history of the sport... I dont understand why you cant see the sheer art when Floyd is in the ring, the man has produced boxing masterpieces on more than one occassion.

Hearns was a great boxer. However what you say is true, his natural abilities benefited him far more then Floyds.

Floyd doesnt lose to a Iran Barkley level fighter. EVER.

In some ways I think you're being too extreme.

I agree that Floyd is one of the best 'boxers' there has ever been, but ignoring the comparison with Hearns for a minute, Floyd's 'masterpieces' have almost always come against 'B' or 'C' class fighters and its really hard to shake the idea that Floyd is the poor mans Sweat Pea in terms of ability and skillset.

I think FMJ is basically on the edge of the kind of status you've afforded him. But he's not there yet. :good

    Resume - yes
    Boxing ability - no

Defence, footwork, punch accuracy are all in FMJs favour... those things rank high on my score chart... thats real boxing, the sweet science at its best.

Hearns, and it's not that close either. Mayweather is overrated, both in his own mind, and by many fans. He fought in a much weaker era.

herns took fights where he was considered the underdog. and even his losses are more remembered then any of floyds wins even the ib fights.

Hearns by far! He fought better opponents and he was better built for this sport.

Hearns. The era he fought in was far more competitive and he took much greater risk.

Not to mention, Hearns more often won in a decisive fashion. Hearns actually tried to stop mother****erz...unlike Floyd who's most always been content with lettin' the judges decide the bout.
