I have to say i thought you were a dirty fighter that night against John Simpson. You kept dragging the cuff of your glove over the top of that cut that Simpson had to try and open it up further.:-(
I aint on about the "dirty" stuff, from what i remember regarding the points off and scorecards it was kinda impossible. Am gonna watch it again but **** knows whaa blank its on. You reckon you won by two rounds ? Fair enough. Which rounds do you reckon you lost/won/drew ? Cheers for the reply :good
He is not shot but just was not up to the mark that his promoter and television pundits had the public believe.
Lets be fair, he was winning the Lindsay fight all the way until Lindsay found the bingo punch that he knew he needed to win. The Ramagoadi stoppage was a big mistake in the timing of him getting up from the eight count. IMO both his corner and the ref ****ed up. THe Simpson fight, dirty, maybe but its professional boxing not ****ing ballroom dancing and I'm a Simpson fan. The guy's far from shot, just needs some decent matches to get his career back on track
At no stage did Derry Matthews ever look the real deal. He looked dirty but not the real deal. He was a good fighter but domestic class. He could jump up to European. Maybe get a bogus Jennings style title shot.
Very unlucky in his last 2 fights i enjoyed the Lindsay fight was giving a good show until that picture perfect shot by Lindsay
