No jokes required about hands of stone, haha

What I mean is everyone is giving Mosley No 1 status 147 based off the Marg winning ecen after losing to Cotto.

I dont want to take anything away from SSM but given Marg had just been found cheating is it not plausible to suggest that the demolition was much to do with Marg being not right in the head.

I know shane can punch, but to comeback and destroy someone who was known for a granite chin and never say die spirit, seems a little coincidental to me.

I haven't heard too much on here about that point

What I guess I'm trying to say is should Cotto be viewed as number 1 at 147 given that the Margo fight is now in doubt.

Mosley doing what he did to Margarito should speak alot..
Considering the opponents Margarito fought before hand who couldn't do it.
    (Including Cotto)

    Styles defo make 'em.
But Shane proved that he still has what it takes to scrap with the best.
regardless of what you think of Tony, Shane stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun.

The fight with Cotto and Margo is only in doubt in the minds of die hard Cotto fans. In neveda they give you the wrap and gauze and they video tape the hand wrapping.they have cleared Margo of doing anything shady. YOu can thank another PR star for that...Tito:bbb

Mosley did the impossible and KO'd an ironjawed man we knew he was beatable but not the way he did it.

If you're looking at the fight between Cotto and Mosley as a way to place Cotto ahead watch that fight again it doesn't get much closer than that.

    Great question.

I personally don't feel that Mosley is the best welter. He did demolish Margo and it was a great performance but Margo was stylistically made for him. Shane struggled against Mayorga's awkwardness in his previous fight and of coarse he lost to Cotto in the fight before. Cotto's movement gave him problems not to mention that he was continuiously beaten to the punch in that fight. If they were to rematch I envision the same result; a competitive fight in which Cotto would win on the cards.

BTW I'd fancy Clottey over Mosley as well if they were to ever square up.

Not at all. Margarito fought the same way he usually does, except that Mosley is a superior fighter in all ways. Mosley has a better chin, faster hands, better technique, is stronger, etc.. While it is beyond question that Margarito had become accustomed to using illegal handwraps and was not able to in this particular fight, I do not believe there was any difference in his mentality that night.

Margarito was outfought, and there are no factors beyond that. Mosley ****s Margarito up 9/10 times they fight.

    Some good arguments.

It was just something I never heard mentioned before.

With Bhop beating Pavlik it was kinda put up there as an example of the older guys still doing it. But after he looked like he was on the decline against Cotto it just seemed strange no one made more of Margarito's state of mind when the bell rung considering what had transpired behind the scenes moments earlier. That fighter with the confidence and iron chin had totally vanished.

But then at the same time you've got to give prpos to Shane for not just outpointing the supposed unbeatable force but to demolish him was incredible.

Mosley is obviously not what he used to be, but he's still one of the top fighters of today.

Yeah, that was surprising. My boy called me after that round, like "Yo, did you see Tony's knees buckle from that right hand to the body?" I was like wtf. :huh

I didn't catch it until rewatching the fight later that night. You could tell by Margarito's facial expression that he was surprised as well.

Mosley took on a guy that , aside from PW, nobody wanted to **** with and he deep fried that ass! DEEP FRIED I SAY! Bring on that cherry pickin cocksuckin money hungry ***!:woot
