Thats right nowt wrong with his chin.Khans problem has been his open defence that leaves his chin exposed if Roach can sort that out then Khan can only improve.

Any fighter with such a poor defence will get dropped l as many times as Khan has,but Khan is willing to work hard, learn and improve.

But if you want to write him off at the age of 22 then thats your choice...........

His chin is awful, if you want to argue that he can protect that problem by developing a great defence then thats fair enough but that doesn't mean his chin isn't grade A China.

any punch that lands on Kahn it sends him reeling across the ring. Like Nulty says he can develop a good defence then he will leave his chin out when he gets confident then the Glass will be flying :deal

As I have said when Khan gets put down he is up petty quickly, the devastating punch that Prescott landed Khan was up at the count of 4 and ready to fight on 8..........A real chinny fighter who couldn`t take a shot would still be on the floor being counted out.

Khans problem has been his defence rather than his chin and that can be improved.

Pacquiao was knocked out cold in his 12th fight by a guy weighing little more than 7st after being put down on other occasions by other fighters, does that mean Pacquiao always had a glass jaw and would never be a class act in the ring?

Or did it mean Pacquiao had to work on his defence???

Only thing he lacks is a strong chin.

Though he might be able to get near the top it's only a matter of time before someone catches flush on the chin.

Mate, it doesn't matter how quick you get up if you are not in control of your faculties. Infact, he'd be better served sitting his ass on the canvas for the count of 8. The fact is Khan loses all control of his legs when he is brushed to the side of the head so whether he gets up or not is not really going to help as even if the ref gives him the benefit of the doubt he's a sitting duck.

Pacquiao was a little kid back then, he did often have to fight on short notice back in Asia. Hardly the pampered life of Khan where he's given every opportunity. Pacquiao's improvements are almost unparalleled, you are hoping on miracles. Firstly the miracle that Khan is also going to improve to that extent, everybodies talent is finite. And secondly that his chin is going to get stronger, because regardless of defence every fighter in history had to take a punch.

Khan is more Litzau than Pacquiao chin wise and I'd expect that to continue.

Look, Khan has been pleading for a title fight for 2 years, he got taught a lesson by Prescott, but the signs were there beforehand, Limond - who doesnt have power, put Khan on his ass.

Two major problems with Khan are his Jimmy Hill chin and his attitude. He is in a hurry to be a world champ, but he is not ready. Even if he flukes a win in his upcoming title challenge, he will get destroyed soon after. He should have had another 10 competitive fights before he thinks about a title....

Well we are just going to have to agree to disagree mate.Khan is 22 and still a baby in boxing terms but he has a fantastic work ethic along with fast feet and fast hands,if his defence improves as I expect it too under Roach there is no telling how far he can go in the fight game.

Of course the jury is out on how far he will go but I just cannot write him off at the age of 22 when he has so good attributes.

I dont even think its just the CHIN Amir has a massive punch resistance problem, something that wasnt going to be exposed by Barrera and certainly not ***an.

For Khan to gain any creditbilty he needs to get back in with Presscott and school him for about 7 rounds. Going up in weight, and fighting the worst champion in the division before vacating the title when a decent mandatory comes along does nothing for him imo.

    And therefore no he cant.

Interesting, in the General Forum Amir khan is being tipped to be p4p but not here. Check the recent polls, there was a discussion regarding all the prospects at this time, and khan was picked at the top ahead of guys like Gamboa etc.

I dont think khan has physically matured yet, remember khan was 17 and fighting at lighweight and hes still there. He'll be in his prime around 25-26. Regarding his chin, wasnt oscar getting knocked down early in his career? I havent seen his early career but im pretty sure he was, and people were writing him off as chinny.
