I am afraid for my sins i am a Frans Botha fan. I was fairly impressed with his shape and happy with the ability he showed in his last fight against Timo Hoffman. The question i ask myself is where does he go from here? I personally think he got unlucky in a few of his big fights (Tyson especially). But given the opportunity and one or two more fights (if he keeps winning and gets back in full shape) i think he could once again be in with a shot at the big time. Maybe a little older and wiser he could finally, legitimately have a win against a world champ? I think he would stand a good chance against most of the current crop of top heavyweights. A rematch with Wlad would in my opinion give him his best shot. Mind you if Haye wins the title Bothas overhand rights would give him alot of trouble and i am not sure Valuev would be all that comfortable with him either.

Well Valuev is champion so that would be his best shot right there; to go for the WBA belt.

his only chance would be against Valuev and even then it would be fairly slim IMO. Maybe him and Holyfield could fight a WBA eliminator :hey

I know Valuev is crappy but I think even he could beat Brotha. Brotha is a spoiler though...and at his best he's a mild annoyance to a fighter. I think he could take a few rounds but no way does he win it.

Botha wasn't that great in his "prime." All he is today is cannon fodder for any top rated guy, and probably most fringe contenders too.

    I have to agree.

Actually, Valouev is much better fighter than he is given credit for. He can fight whenever he wants to but I feel his new trainer is putting way too much attention on defense when he had a really great offense and chin to boot.

Does Botha still have his hair bleached to the max? Does he still wear that white fur coat into the ring?? I thought it was kool when Botha changed his image to go along with the "White Buffalo" bit.....

    Note:

Botha used to shop at my bud's grocery store in Newport beach, CA...

Tyson laid this idiot out, that was a memorable fight. He had his hands down kind of showboating the enitre fight.

Maybe he could fight guys like Holyfield , Mccall, Golota on the Senior circiut.
