its funny cause brian asked floyd why marquez and floyd's reply was that marquez called him out but so hasn't williams, mosley etc. that tells that he picks his opponent cause he is scared to lose he'll probably say that he'll retire again after marquez fight thats if he gets past him
he chose marquez who pacquiao fought at super featherweight:rofl let me repeat SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
So? pacquaio has gained a grand total of 4lbs since then. It seems like Marquez can handle someone of Floyds weight.
The crux of the matter is that Floyd is all about double standards and the path of least resistance. He says that he's fighting Marquez because Marquez called him out, but when opponents that would probably sell just as well or better(Mosley, Cotto) are available in his current division, do the same thing, he ignores them or says that they had their chance at earlier dates and didn't want any. He then attempts to marginalize these fighters when he's called on it by saying they have losses, but he wasn't spouting that when he was fighting Baldomir for the lineal belt("belts don't make me") or Judah after he lost to Baldomir(and Judah has never beaten a top level opponent). And it's unknown whether he's fighting Marquez at a catchweight or at full Welterweight size, but either way Marquez is coming up two weight classes to fight Floyd when he's only been at Lightweight for two fights. There are plenty of other examples, but ultimately it comes out to the same thing. Floyd is all about making money and preserving his undefeated record with the most favorable low risk/high reward settings he can find for his fights. He isn't a coward imo but he apparently doesn't fight for anything except money and doesn't really want to test himself, nor does he seem to care how ugly some of his wins are. However, the fact that he talks like he can make easy work of Sugar Ray Robinson, won't make fights against legitimate Welterweights, and otherwise just discusses how much money he's making, makes him a polarizing, unsympathetic figure. He's frustrating even to his fans to an extent, because he might have the talent to make a legitimate case for himself as possibly one of the best fighters ever but we'll never know because he just won't make the fights to try and show that nor does he provide tons of entertainment value even against overmatched opposition since he moved up to Welter.
agreed espn should just stfu....seriously people want to see floyd fight not ****head reported stir up hate
I'm so sick of people saying Floyd ducked Williams and completely ignoring the FACT that Cotto and Shane refuse to fight Williams as well. It's ****ing amazing.
It sickens me to hear these ****ing Shane and Cotto fans even have the nerve to bring up PBF not fighting Paul Williams. Shane and Cotto both have been outright ducking him. He was completely locked out of the division in a shameful way. As far as Floyd, he gets hate for no reason at all sometimes. There is nothing he can do to silence some people. Period.
Dawg seriously the reason I put you on blast cus I knew you three that I did name would be 1st to jump on this thread, it was more of a joke
Mayweather is joke... By that i mean he disrepects boxing... Says he is better then sugar ray robinson. Boxers like SRL who fought the best of there era and didnt do it for money... But to prove that they are the best. Not no ****ing cherry pickers.. I am glad espn blasted him and if more people called him a *****, maybe he would take a prime fighter in a prime weight class. Ohh i just came out of retirement, can i please fight a leightweight at a catch weight 2 classes above his. He is a joke!
atsch slap yourself. SRR said he didnt like boxing and only did it for the money. SRL retired multiple times because he didnt like the sport and only continued when he ran into financial trouble. Wow wow wow.
I do recall SRL dodgeing hearns and hagler and duran.. And wtf are u talking about SRR??? He fought late into his career for money, cause the guy went bankrupt. He never said he boxed just for money.
Duran was a lightweight moving up to welter. SRL did beat Hearns by the skin of his teeth but then didnt rematch him until he thought he was past it. Same thing with Hagler, by the time he fought Hagler, he was already showing decline. He also never fought Aaron Pryor who called him out numerous times. As for SRR, he is on record saying he hated boxing.
